Wife's 14 Honda pilot needs new tires. 235/65/17

I see a bunch of truck / heavier SUV posts recommending Michelin defender 2 but $1k wasn't quite what I wanted to spend.

Does anyone have any experience with continental tires? These are 853 OTD

Also some falkens. I have wildpeak on my truck and like them they just are loud AF. These are 714 OTD

Any help is appreciated. Pilot has 175k miles on it and the timing belt was replaced at 130k iirc. Likely this will be it's last set or close to it's last set of tires. We drive on rural roads 90% of the time through climax or liberty on the way to work 70 total miles a day. Quiet ride, comfort, and grip are most important to us.

Amazon generally has decent prices on tires.

I've had great success with even cheaper no-name tires on ebay.

I don’t have anything good to say about the Continental tires. Wife’s car, 2019 Rav4 has them on it. They are noisy and at 38,000 miles are about worn out. It will have Michelins on it asap.

Discount Tire just had a $150 rebate on the Michelin tires that ran out on Sunday. They run them pretty regular if you can wait a little while. They also do 5% off for military and if you sign up for their credit card, you get another 5% off. Sign up and then cancel it after using it.

I've found continental tires to be a mixed bag. There's a brand new set on the SUV I just bought, pretty sure they're OE for Benz. That vehicle only has 26K on it and already has new tires. FWIW they're quiet and nice right now. The set that came on my wifes car wore out in about 35k. I had a set on an Audi that didn't make it past the first year of ownership...they were wearing funny from the AWD and got super noisy.
I've had decent luck with Pirelli, Yokohama, and Michelin on past SUVs and cars. Jeep Cherokee got BFG AT tires, and that was a noisy beast to start with.

I ended up buying some falken and had them installed today. Seems to be a mixed bag on brands and everyone ive talked to says something different. My truck needs tires next, I'm hoping the rough ride and loudness is because they are E ply on a 1500 but no idea. I'm leaning towards Michelin for it but I need to do more research and save up some more money.

I appreciate everyone's help.

Look at Tire Racks reviews for your Pilot.

I would recommend staying away from tires with a higher speed rating than your vehicle requires.
Pros are better handling and increased traction.Cons are they will wear out faster.
Stay up on your rotations to maximize wear and minimize tire/ road noise.
If your oil change is 5,000 miles or greater rotate them every oil change.

Welp discount tire does not check if the tire has sealed to the bead. Just walked out to this. Brand new tire and I'm in the parking lot changing it.

Pretty angry, called and fussed them out. Discount tire doesn't have a mobile mechanic. I'll be back tomorrow hopefully this spare lasts for 60 miles. Atleast it was not my wife driving her car.
