A friend wants a blackout to hunt hogs. I would like suggestions on where the good barrels are coming from and he is not interested in subs and already has a Grendel. Mostly wants a new rifle to play with. THANKS
Another vote for ballistic advantage. Personally, I would go with a 7.62x39 AR over .300 simply for ammo cost. Trust me when I say a x39 will put down a hog just fine š
For a 16in 300 blackout I would also recommend ballistic advantage. I did a build like that a few years ago and had good luck with it. I did do the carbine length with that barrel with no issues but the pistol gas length seems to beuch more popular.
I have messed around with .300blk for hunting for a while now. IMO there's no real ballistics advantage with a 16" over a 12.5" unless you want a "stock" over a brace. And for hogs I would stick to 110-125gr.
