Due to a combo of grief, bourbon, and a stellar deal I added another .308 bolt rifle to the stable last week, The rifle is a 26" Semi Heavy Barrel Howa 1500 in a HS Precision Sporter style stock. Right now the plan is to cut the barrel to 16.5", rethread and install a Griffin Taper Mount Linear Comp (hopefully make it a bit more pleasant to shoot out of an enclosed blind while I figure out supressor). Any input/advice would be appreciated.

The 1500 is a great rifle. I had one in .223 years ago I wish I had back.

16.5” is a great barrel length ask me how I know........accurate to 500 yards with little effort.
