2 interesting rimfire rounds. 17 wsm gets that little buzzard out a bit further, but wind drift still applies.

Me likely HMR...but only because the savage I bought was chambered in that! For what you can and want to do they are probably very similar and ammo cost is very similar from what I've seen. Seems that I see more HMR around though...may just be my perception though.
Here's a link to an article written in 2014 comparing the two. Not sure that WSM has caught on more since then with ammo and rifle choices though. Looks like drift is about 1/2 for the WSM vs HMR.

I have a Marlin 17HMR that I traded into a while back.
It's my go-to varmint rifle around the house. It's absolute murder on crows and other critters, teeny tiny hole going in and golf ball on the other.
Recoil is non existent, it's like a really loud pellet gun.

Seems like there are more options in guns for the 17hmr.
