Building an 18" rifle and it seems rails over 15" are slim pickings. I like the idea of a rail that screws into the barrel nut rather just clamping on it but does it really matter? Looking at the noveske nsr but $300 for a rail is hard to swallow

Do you have any recommendations? Looking for mlok

UTG makes a 17”. It’s part of their UTG Pro series which is made in America. It’s actually really good quality. I’ve been pleased with mine so far. It however won’t win you any points among the Internet gunfighters.

Yeah I've seen them in my googling but it seems a big complaint with those is weight. It will be going on a SPR that will be mainly shot off of a bipod but weight is always a concern.

The utg pro stuff is very respectable. I have one coming for a christmas present. And of course their is a video floating around this site will tell you all you need to know about utg rails.

SLR (slrrifleworks.com) has 16 and 16.5 inch rails in key mod and MLOK. I have quite a few of their rails and have been very happy with them.

Anyone looking for a 17” handguard shouldn't Be concerned about weight lol. You mentioned sarcasm above. Check out this video about UTG handguards. For what it’s worth, I’ve had a couple and i had no issues with them. My dad had 6 AR-15’s and they’re on four of the six he has. Wanna talk about heavy? Buy ya a 15” Yankee Hill Machine
Handguard.

Someone has way too much time on their hands. I suppose it would be funnier if I knew the back story and the members..

The SLR rails that we're mentioned above are a respectable weight to be as long as they are. The 16.5" solo lite is 12.8 oz. For perspective my 13" Troy vtac alpha weighs 11.09 oz

Pony up for the Noveske, you know you want to.....

Still haven't decided. I have/have ordered everything except for the rail. I think I'm feeling the SLR solo lite a little more.. the SLR rail and their wrench is a few bucks cheaper than the noveske rail. But having a noveske upper lower and rail would be nice..

I forgot how funny that was.
Friggin drypowder!

That super slim lives on!

Man where were you when I had my 17.5” parallax tactical FFSSR rail for sale here?

There still might be a Gen 1 Rail floating around the web....or you could call/Email Parallax Tactical directly

Well I got it together only to find out the seekins adjustable gas block contacts the SLR rail. Guess I'm gonna pull it back apart and order a SLR sentry 7 like I should have to start with.

I believe you sold me one a year or so ago at the other place. I agree. The damn thing is a pig. I love my 6.8 but it would be considered a BBW.

Trust us, that was freakin hilarious when it happened. I went to a forum meet up to watch football and drink beer and asked @TSConver if those were actually airsoft rails that people were using on their guns because some on the forum had hated on them. He and his wife started laughing. I think @drypowder was there that night too.
