Ive got ageing eyes and still shoot in pistol competitions and was wondering if a red or green dot might help ? The problem is, I don't know what sight base or low mount dot sight will work on my gun? Here is what I have and any help would be great appreciated.
1911 Rock Island Armory/Citadel model
Novak cut rear sight
What I need is the rear sight base and the dot sight to match and hopefully with a budget of $150 for both. Suggestions ?

Pick a dot, then find a base. FYI Rock Island Novaks aren't quite to spec, chance anything will take some filing.
I don't know anything about any dot sights under $200.

EGW makes Vortex/Burris and Cmore RTS mounts
Trijicon makes one for RMR/SRO/Holosun 507/407
JP makes one for the Jpoint
Not sure anyone makes one for the Leupold Delta Point Pro

It sounds like what I need to do is to first pick a sight, then buy the mount that match's the sight.. Thanks for the info...

Thinking about the Burris fastfire 3 and the EGW base.. Looks like I overshot my budget...Looking at $300
