1911 Enthusiasts - any experience with Magnum Research 1911 based platforms?

Until I saw one recently, Magnum Research never entered my mind as a 1911 style pistol. I've shot and disassembled Colt, Springfield, Kimber, Smith and Wesson, Rock Island, and, Taurus, and Sig. Anyone have any hands on experience with them? Thoughts?
 
I had a Desert Eagle 1911C (Commander sized 1911) and regret getting rid of it. The fit/finish was great and the overall quality was great. It had beautiful, deep bluing and some of the best looking factory grips that I’ve seen.

Wow I'm behind the times. I didn't even know they were bought by Kahr. Some nice looking options on their site.
 
I had one a few years back and I hate I sold it. I liked that one better than the kimber I owned at the same time
