Have a 9mm 1911 that isn't extracting well so purchased one from Amazon and the photo matched mine. The one that came to me looks different because in the middle of the extractor are two ridges for lack of knowledge of their real name but on mine, there is only one.

I have attached a photo of what mine looks like but the one I received has two, one on each side.

Will this matter?

Its not a problem if it works.... tweaking an extractor is common after replacement.

Yours was designed specifically for the 9mm pistol. The one with two pads in the center and the fullsized locating pad behind the claw is intended for a .45 caliber pistol. It can probably be modified to work in your 9mm, but it's better to get the correct extractor.

Thank you
This is the SECOND one that was sent to us, from different vendors with the same double pad so I was wondering it was just the new norm.
Guess I will be sending this one back also.

Both my 9mm extractors have the double bump in the middle. Springfield 5", Kimber 3"...

That's irrelevant. The proper 9mm extractor has a single pad in the center and a small diameter locating pad behind the claw...and there are reasons for it.

And it's not the first time that a manufacturer decided to make it up as they go. Maybe they wanted to keep one extractor in inventory and just modify them for the 9mm pistols.
