ill be receiving a Colt MK IV series 70 soon that is being passed down to me. I’m already plotting on what I want to do with it as I’m more than a little excited to get my first 1911. My question is, are the arched and flat mainspring housings interchangeable? Or would other modifications be needed to swap the arched housing for the flat?

Yes, they are interchangeable. Most 1911 parts require some fitting but I’ve never had to modify a mainspring housing in order for it to fit any of my 1911/2011’s. Congrats on the 1911.

Thanks Slappy. That was what I was thinking but hadn’t been able to find any info to support that online.

What Slappy said.
I have had to file the ribs on an Ed Brown MSH just a little, but that should be the most a MSH requires.
