I want to change the recoil and mainspring on my 1911 Dan Wesson Specialist in 9mm. After doing a search I could not find the direct factory replacements other than generic for all Wesson models. I know it’s dependent on barrel length which is 5”. I bought this gun used so true round count is unknown but the gun is 18 months old. Regardless of count I am changing the springs for preventative maintenance.

I did find a forum stating the recoil Spring was a 10# Wolf if that is accurate. The only mainspring number I have seen is 18.5# but I am not sure if that applies to both .45acp and 9mm.

Gotta link or suggestion where it can be bought. DW’s site has nothing. They need step their game up on spare parts.
Wolff gunsprings is all I ever used and never had an issue.
What Mike said. It's all we ever use. Good site. Easy peasy ordering.

^^^ what they said

gunsprings.com
aka Wolff Springs

In fact, Keith the VP at DW made reference to Wolff Springs in that post

Is the 9mm recoil spring in 45 cal the same diameter as 9mm? There is no 10 lb Spring listed in 9mm for Wolff. And should I replace the guide rod with a full length rod?

Are 9mm and 45acp in the same if both are 10 lb specs?
best thing to do is call the 800 number at Wolff. They can get you what you need if they have it.
