I'm a massive Wehraboo so the MG34 and 42 are closest to my heart, but there's an old world brutalist elegance to the 1919 that is impossible to match. A solidity and presence that just screams function and reliability.

The sheer volume of slaps and thuds downrange is terrifying. No wonder they had to make a special film to get GIs to engage the thing.

I was building those mounts for years. Using the MG42 tripod.
Fun set up but add a hanging weight or they flip if using it standing up. I used a lead block.
