where is the best place to find a value on this revolver (1930s Colt officers target 22lr) I am not sure it has ever been fired. There is no drag line on the cylinder. original box owners manual and sight adj tool in the envelope bore and cylinders are spotless I will call Colt next week to try to get a accurate date and I will post pictures when I get a chance
You have a hard one to nail down without photos or even better hands on inspection. I’ve seen a good shooter recently good for $1,000 BUT the condition you’re talking is more like what someone will pay. You said call Colt, use this to get a Colt Archives letter ... https://www.colt.com/colt-archive . The condition of the box and paperwork can add a couple hundred bucks ... if it catches a collector’s eye ... just depends. IF you do decide to sell and want to send it to a good home post here ... if you’re lookin for top dollar Gunbroker w/ excellent photos of the gun, box, paperwork AND Colt Archives letter ... if 95% or higher with everything put in a minimum and see. Personally I’d not let it go unless someone REALLY wanted it bad ... because you won’t likely ever be able to replace it ... $2K minimum to test the waters???
Not planning on selling it just trying to find out what I have I will try to post pictures later this week
See if you can accurately determine the barrel length....it could make an enormous difference in the value on this one.
You can go to the Colt website now and get your manufacture date. I have owned several of these. The single factor is condition. I have bought them in fair, shootable, accurate condition in the past 5 years for $400. They won't bring as much as the same gun on the PP frame. The .22 PPs are 1K guns. Remember condition is all. If you'll post up the number I will be glad to tell you the Man. date.
