Fake-ish news? ā€œGarner High School and Wiley Elementary School were on lockdown for about 10 minutesā€

Because the Mass Shooting Tracker is a crowd-sourced and unverified database where anyone searching the net for school shootings can report it and it's tallied.

Then news agencies source it in their stories - it's the data that drives headlines like "347 mass shootings have taken place in America since January 1st."

My niece works at this store and was there. He walked right past her on his way to do the deed.

I'm told he was upset about his meds, claiming they were wrong because they didn't taste right. When the tech refused to taste one of the pills he started shooting.

My son is a pharmacy manager in Raleigh and he called and told me about this. He knows the manager and said she was shot in the stomach and the pharmacy tech was shot in the eye.

The manager that was shot, I went to school with. Was floored when I saw her name and picture. Disbelief. Glad she is ok, haven't read or see anything about the other tech.

Now I'm going to wait for the anti crowd to attempt to enact a law stating that a person on "x" medication shouldn't be allowed to possess firearms.

Don't get me wrong this guy was a peice of crap if he was willing to shoot people that were completely innocent in his whole sh*tuation. But this ONE incident could be a trigger to enact some waky legislation. This is why we can't have nice things!

My son said they are keeping the tech in a medically induced coma because the swelling won't go down.

He said the pharmacist is awake and stable.

There is a side bar article on WRAL website about verbal abuse and assault being part of the job of being a pharmacist these days. I witnessed this to a lesser extent at my local Walgreens. Some woman on the phone cussing out the only licensed pharmacist working there because he would not fill her oxy prescription early. FIve minutes later a guy came in with a cane saying he'd just come from the pain clinic and he needed his oxy and they (Walgreens) had short changed him last time. Pharmacist told him that was virtually impossible but to talk to the store manager up front. Pharmacist didnt even look up from what he was doing. Just add pharmacist along with school teacher to the list of jobs where you need to qualify with a side arm. What in the hell is wrong with people these days.

Stephen Denning 60 haven't found a pic

60 year old black man, photo down in the article. Looks like a normal regular guy, all the more reason we need to carry, you just never know what can set someone off, particularly with all the animosity, anger and distrust between people now days fueled by the media and leftest. The "blue eyed devil" seems to have a target on his back now.

After a recent experience with a CVS pharmacy I have no longer trust pharmacist like I once did. I get my meds and toss them in the car and don't open the bag. Never had to. When it comes time and I need what I picked up I open the bag and I have some one else's drugs. Yep. Wrong drug. Wrong name. I go back to the store and take them back. They are surprised and quickly fill what I was missing.

It looks like I will be counting some of my meds. I take Tramadol for pain management issues. If a tech is not honest, stealing from the customer is less likely to be caught due as product is moved off site by the customer. If the customer comes up short they can request counts be verified before leaving the counter.

I went to a new dentist on Thursday. Getting out of the truck, I started to leave it in the truck, didn't want to get x-rayed with a gun, but then I actually thought, "you never know, some guy might come busting in here to shoot his ex, or go after the doctor that wants to be paid or won't give him any more pain meds.". So I had it on my hip the whole time they were working on me. Then I get home and find the story below. It's like Rick Grimes told Carl in the Walking Dead: You are never safe. You can never let up your guard.

My sister is a Licensed Nurse Practitioner in a small town near Jacksonville, NC, and her office is across the street from the only pharmacy in town. She told me that since the new opiod legislation took effect last year, the town has had a police officer in his car covering the doctor's office and the pharmacy at certain hours every day. Cause and effect. This is a small town and paying for those extra hours is causing some hardship for the town.

It is highly unlikely that a tech is stealing meds. Pharmacies have cameras covering every angle of the pharmacy.

It might be unlikely. But 57 years of walking the face of this earth has taught me one thing, be careful who you trust. And on trust, you verify.

Having a son that is a pharmacy manager has taught me how many people go into pharmacies that are absolute assholes and you cannot trust the public. Want to guess how many come in trying the "you shorted me on my pain pills"? His license is on the line with everything that goes on in his pharmacy and I guarantee you there is no tech messing with scripts on his watch. Once he had been out for shoulder surgery and when he went back he was auditing prescriptions and found one that was suspicious. Turns out a tech had faked a script for her ex-husband for painkillers. Once my son found it, he turned it over to the authorities and the last I heard, she was serving time.

He gets people coming in with fake prescriptions, people trying to get pain meds filled early, etc., etc., and he refuses them. They get irate and some have threatened him.

Did anything mention what the prescription was for? Curious if I missed it. I imagine it's HIPPA protected or something though...

I'll bet Walgreen employees are forbidden to carry while working. There's the problem. I'll bet Henry Pratt employees were forbidden to carry at work although in that case I'm not sure they could have been saved. I'd also be curious to know what the three HP people who were firing that dirt bag did while the gun was coming up.

If I was in a position of firing people these days, I'd send them an email!
