Another one of those 'take what you want to from it' posts

The rising cost of everything is going to negatively impact any kind of COVID recovery. The economic effects of the COVID shutdown haven't fully hit us yet and pile all the rest on top. It's going to be a rough ride.
Some might say it will enslave the people as they turn to the government for help. Almost as though it were by design.

It is a vicious circle...the ongoing worldwide COVID recovery is one of the big things putting the worldwide economy (to include food shortages) into the crapper, and the mismanagement can't get them out of the loop.

I don't think the intent was to enslave people but I do think that's an eventual outcome.

No no no.... everything is going to be fine as per the people on here that told me to stop hyperventilating a few weeks ago.

To be fair I did list a few more things that will make things even worse...but I'm sure things will be just fine this summer....right? I've got my paper bag at the ready though.

Just saw this vid, which has a lot of good info on the reasons that the fertilizer markets will almost certainly cause food shortages by the end of the year.

Note that tensions are already boiling over in places like Peru due to fuel and food cost inflation.

Couple issues with this article. 1, Zero Hedge is frequently the alt-right Chicken Little; 2, some of those 20 thigs are taking worst-case scenarios and making them worser-case scenarios. I do believe some of them, because there is evidence to suggest that some of them are true.

That said, just because some of them aren't necessarily true does not mean the whole thing is baseless or wrong, it just means verify the information with other sources and be prepared and guarded.

Agreed, but sometimes they do get things correct before others even notice.

This is true, which is why I added the rest of my post (" just because some of them aren't necessarily true does not mean the whole thing is baseless or wrong, it just means verify the information with other sources..").

I was just discussing this with a friend, who is a military intel officer by training, on faculty at West Point. He said that too many people--on the left and the right--are guilty of confirmation bias and framing bias. Remember, even the National Enquirer and Drudge broke legit stories. So yes, although I do not think Zero Hedge should ever be anyone's primary source, it doesn't mean they are wrong.

The 'driveby link posting' Makes sharing every dumb thing on the internet too easy.

I've seen other forums that require that anyone posting a link to an article or story write a summary of the content. Keeps a lot of the wacky links from getting tossed onto the board.

Just as I suspected 😂

My main complaint with zerohedge is do you guys have to start a thread for every. single. thing. they. post?
Isn't America great, free speech and all?
Not only can people say/post things you might not like, but you're free to complain about it or post a dissenting opinion too. Cool, huh?

Here's a little less sensational analysis. Still...it's going to be rough.
