Dealer or locksmith. unfortunately

do all the other fob functions work?
remote start, etc.?

my 2004 had a relay fuse go bad.
the new fuse ruined the old relay,
so i installed another new fuse and
a new relay. 2 hours of running back
and forth and ~$30.

Went through this with the gf 08 before she traded it .

Nothing on the fob works

The wife went to Batteries Plus to pick up a battery for her fob and they programmed it for her. Maybe play dumb and see if they can get it?

It worked before the battery went dead
The car battery failing should not cause the remote access circuits to lose the fob to car link.
Either the FOB has failed or the vehicle has a problem with the remote access.
Can you try to add the FOB to another vehicle to test it?

Take the FOB apart, sometimes the conductive rubber on the inside of each button gets dirty or has moisture problem. The rubber pads can be replaced if worn out. This video may help.

Not sure if you have seen this procedure, it may or may not work.
