I'm in the market for a new handgun, well more for a 2011.

I'm wondering if anyone has the prodigy and how does it perform in well comparison to the Staccato.

Or is the Staccato worth its price tag over the prodigy?

By the time you replace the mim parts and do a trigger job on the prodigy you will be within a couple hundred of the stacatto price. If it's just for plinking the prodigy will do all you need . The stacatto is worth the money đź’°
I heard that. I was playing around with both of them at the store, they both felt nice. Didn't know if the higher price tag is worth it. But if I gotta replace parts and do a trigger job on the prodigy I might as well just cough up that difference and get something that is that nice from the factory.

I have 2 stacatto Ps. One is my 3 gun pistol and the other I just picked up for wintertime carry

Don't have a Prodigy, but do have a P, C2 and C. All have been great shooters and very accurate. They are worth the $ imo.

Dang that looks good. Know of anywhere in nc that stocks these or is it order only
Tar River Arms in Wake Forest has a nice selection of BULs. OnPoint in Raleigh occasionally has them too.

If you're looking for a 2011 in the Springfield Prodigy price range, I have heard good things about BUL.

Honest Outlaw recently did a video on the BUL, and having shot the two within a short timeframe of one another, says he vastly prefers the BUL over the Prodigy. It wasn't even close. The BUL was better, cheaper and more reliable. If you want to go cheap, go BUL. If you want to go mid-tier, go Staccato. If you want to go primo. Haha. Well. The sky's the limit. Atlas comes to mind as turbo nice, but turbo expensive.

I'd save my pennies and get a Staccato, personally. But if I just couldn't justify that, get the BUL and then eventually get a shop to mill the slide for an SRO.

Kinda the direction I'm headed. You get what you pay for and a lot of what I am reading sounds like staccato seems to be the way.

I would say that's the correct direction, and what you're reading is worth listening to. The Staccatos are absolutely butter smooth, and ready to race out of the box. It's the sort of gun you don't need to change anything out on, whereas the Springfield you're going to end up replacing all the MIM parts over time anyway. The Springfield won't retain its value, but the Staccato will.

Tar River has polymer Bul guns, but no 1911 or 2011 style guns. And they aren't available to order right now. There are a few single-stack 1911 commanders on Gunbroker.

Shucks. I’m debating a Prodigy myself. I’ve shot Atlas and the Prodigy and liked both.

I’ve got a lead on a 5” Prodigy for about $1500. Low round count.
