Picked up another daily work car from Copart. 2015 Honda Civic LX. The passenger rear window will not roll down. All other windows are fine. Based on my limited research on Google it seems that Honda has issues with switches. Most replies have been to switch out the master switch on the drivers door. A few have been the window regulator motor. Any way to that a simpleton like me can check to find out if it is the switch or motor without part swapping and praying? Thanks for help.

Try switch first. Usually you can get them cheap on amazon these days. If it doesn't work then you know it might be more.

Will it work using that doors window switch?

No. It will not roll down with either the master switch on the drivers door or the switch on the rear passenger door.

$22 or so on Ebay with 30 day warranty. Going to go that route first. Several people mentioned in various threads via Google search that power comes through the master switch to the rear door switch and to change that one first. Will order one over the weekend.

There is a reason the factory switch is $124.00.
A $22 switch is going to be a crap switch from the start.

Do a bit of testing instead of guessing your money away

Turn the key to the run position, hop in the back seat, hold the window switch in the down position and give the door a good "slam" or 2. Sometimes the glass or the motor sticks and this will free it up. Just a cheap trick to try before you start diagnosing.

Will try that tomorrow. Thanks for the idea.

Key on engine off, open driver door half way, try door switch, see if it runs.
My Taurus and Sable had issues with broken wires from cable tie way too tight on the harness where it passes to the door in the rubber seal.

Another trick is get a dual suction cup, find them in the bath accessory section, attach it to the outside window and give it a tug in the down direction when a helper tries the down switch.

Check for power at the motor before ordering parts. You can try swapping wires to the other switch to see if it runs.

Find those broken wires in Ford and Holden made Chevys a lot.
Would definitely check for power before buying parts. At the motor and then out of the switches if none.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Second slam and she went to working. Both the master switch and the passenger door switch are operational.

If you spray a little bit of WD-40 in the channels where the glass slides up and down that'll help keep it from sticking as well

Could also be that the motor came to rest on a bad spot and jarring it let it make contact. If that is the case, you will have this problem again.

As for switches, if it comes up again get ahold of the wiring diagram. It's really easy to check if they work with a meter before you start dropping money on new ones.
