2018 Competitive Shooting Goals

More rifle shooting experience! I’ve shot pistols 99% of the time that I’ve been shooting guns, yet I have a safe full of long guns! I plan to shoot more Carbine matches and add some PCC into my USPSA matches as well. Hope to obtain some level of rifle proficiency in 2018.

Details man, details!
We are blessed to have a decent USPSA match almost every weekend within a reasonable driving distance. My schedule so long as the boss signs off will be:

Sir Walter which is the same weekend as the former ZSA matches (1st Sat) that is amazing! Tried it for the first time last Saturday and it was a blast.

I’m signed up for CGGR (near asheboro) and squaded with up with @Wolffy and his gang this upcoming Saturday.

And on the 4th Sunday Parry and his group run the Devil Dog USPSA Match up at Oxford.

Also, I've subscribed to your YouTube videos and it's been lacking as of late.
Wait a minute here. @Slappy McTrigger you have YouTube videos but have not posted in the match video thread? That is in direct violation of the competition page code of conduct. @Butter we have a violater.

Last time I brought up that rule I almost got my butt chewed.

I’ve been outed! I’ll post one up there later. Only have ZSA stuff recorded at the moment though.

Playing around on the new website I laughed to myself when I saw this. Top 20 in PCC B class baby!

Where do you find the stats of your hits?

I just want to shoot gooder in 2018.... With the addition of 2 under 3 in the past few years I'll just take what I can get

I aim to break my curse and actually get to a match.

Alright, I never have goals. "Having fun and shooting better" is too vague. I am lazy. Never practice hardly and rarely rarely dry fire.

So, here are real goals for next year:
1. Drop 30lbs of fat and add 15-20 of muscle

2. Write out and perform a daily dryfire regimen at least 3 days a week.

3. Get a .40 and shoot major. I want to be a solid consistent A, and barking on master door by end of year.

4. Shoot as much 3gun as possible.

5. Get sponsored for free ammo, strippers, and Infinitys, and allowance for Porsche.

Pretty sure I can pull off 1-4. Not positive about 5 yet. 5 might be aiming to high?

I was too lazy and cheap to join and pay for USPSA number, but knew I had to bite the bullet soon.

To my surprise, yesterday evening I got an email with all my new info, including my NEW USPSA Number and membership.

@Slappy McTrigger and @Slacker bought it for me for Xmas!!

HOW FREEKING COOL IS THAT??!!

My goals are still on hold for Rimfire Challenge. At least until I find out whether or not Worlds will be located somewhere I can get to. To heck with California.

For Steel Challenge I hope to attend at least 3 major matches in 2018. I hope to make GM in two more divisions just like Chilly. And 2019 might end up being the year of the PCC.

Going to CMP matches at Camp Butner in May for M1 & pistol.

High Power & 2 gun matches at Piedmont Hangunners

CMP National Matches at Camp Perry in July.

The Rimfire Challenge Shooting Association 2 Gun World Championship will be held in Missouri this year.

I’m going for Top 10 Open and Top 5 Limited. The way my health is, it needs to be this year.

This year is starting to shape up for me a little more. Right now it's looking like the goal will be:

Dry fire 4 nights a week for an hour.
Live fire twice a month, shoot matches twice a month.

Checkpoints will be at:
SC Section in early May (5 other GMs signed up)
IPSC Nationals in July
NC Section
USPSA Nationals

I'd like to pump the live fire numbers up a bit, but I'm really not sure how. Working a 9-5 makes it darn hard to get to the range before or after work and be productive. New job gives bank holidays off though so that should be worth a third live fire practice in those months. Not sure what else to do.

SHOOT MORE!

Not to be Donnie Downer, but you should put some specific parameters on "more". "Shoot once a week." or "Get to the range at least three times a month." That way you can measure if you're achieving it or not.

That’s S.M.A.R.T. ;)

My goal is to win the SC State Championship in the Frontier Cartridge Gunfighter category. I won it in 2016 but was not able to shoot the 2017 State Match to defend my title.

Oh, and it's impolite to ask how many other shooters were IN that category. There's a saying: "Choose your category wisely". I did.

Also hoping to get a chance to shoot a few Wild Bunch matches this year.

My other goal is to help more new shooters. It's my favorite part of the game.
