2019 Turkey season

Saw a huge tom near the Wilsons Creek area of Caldwell County yesterday. Unfortunately, I was driving to Tennessee on business. He was in no danger from me.

Been a few times, only had one gobble several hundred yards away and he wasn't there the next time. I see them all the time during deer season, lol.

I saw so many during deer season. Will post a pic when I dig it out of my phone. So far only seen 4 hens and the Tom several hundred yards away in another property.

congrats!!! I had 20-30 birds, mostly toms/jakes in a field for the past few months with one white turkey (I'm guessing a Royal gone rogue) 8 or so had beards 9+" and draggn' on a buddy's farm. It was all locked in until the guy tending the farm sprayed it all with roundup the week before the season began and killed the grasses. I've driven over eastern NC the last 3 weeks and all the birds have been in the "green" fields vs the "rounded up" fields. So disappointed. They had gotten so used to us I could just make a horrible attempt at a gobble from the back porch 300yrds away and they would gobble back prior to the field being sprayed.

I heard there were lots in NC now, which is why the Fish and Wildlife is trying to get more people into hunting them.

Wish there were somewhere local I could get out to.

Me and some buddies are going to apply for a game land permit next season, we know where some good places are that should produce a few birds.

My best friends granddaughter killed this bird opening day of the youth season in Kentucky. She's 6. My friend & I raised her dad in the deer woods with us when his mother left when he was 6. We couldn't guitar hunting & fishing so we drug him along with us. Well it looks like it took cause his daughter is a a game taker. Unknown(1).jpg Unknown(1).jpg
