I’d rather be talking about an alien invasion, since I haven’t had the opportunity to experience one of those, at least of the extraterrestrial variety, but we just have a mundane tropical storm headed our way instead.

Oh, and they want you to avoid the shelters due to the wuhan flu.

o_O

Glad I’m not in emergency management these days.

Wish I was still in SORT. Miss those days.

And Isaias is on its way to NC

No bread and milk is gonna be Available at any of stores, or is that for snow storms?

The madness will hit overdrive this morning at the big box stores. Generator, gas can, extension cords, bottled water, batteries, will be gone. Gas will be in short supply, no chainsaws or chains to be found. Long lines at Costco and sams club.
I’m just kidding. Everybody learned a lesson from the last storm we had and got prepared ahead of time.

Looks like it’s going to pickup a little more strength than thought yesterday evening ... Cat 1 making land after midnight to very early Tuesday morning around the NC/SC border and then tracking up the coast just east of I-95. Coming in after dark sucks ...

I hate it when they come in after dark.

This thread is racists. This storm is fueled by white privilege and will disproportionately impact black communities. your just all sitting there making jokes about generators....disgusting. Bee, el, emmmm, bee el emmmmm, be el emmmmm

To everyone in the path, I'm hoping this is just a good excuse to knock off early today and maybe sleep in a little tomorrow... But, if something freaky happens and I can help, just say the word.
To me, Hurricanes are not a concern... Tornadoes scare the hell out of me!

It also means somebody will walk behind him sipping a Slurpee showing just how much he’s exaggerating ...
That was that other guy who used to be the Greenville SC forecaster. But yea, it was hilarious.

Since Jim is in the area that means 2 things. One is the worst part of the storm is here. Two is now every tree company on the eastern seaboard will be here in the morning.

First tornado warning of the evening, ts with rotation or whatever just passed right over us. That crap is going to keep waking me up all night. :(

Looks like it’s about at Battery Oaks ... 30 plus mph winds ... Billy hasn’t been on since 8:37pm

It is getting rather frisky here on Oak Island. Winds just picked up dramatically. Water is near the top of my bulkhead. I think we are in one of the feeder bands close to the eye wall. I think it will get worse before it gets better. I have weathered several of these things and realize that you can never tell exactly what it is going to do.

Stay safe Charlie.

Be safe, y'all.

My Raleigh cousin is sure I'm going to die being bonked on the head by a tree crashing thru the roof.

I've told her there's nothing I can do about that, there are trees all over the place here. If it's my time to go, then it's going to happen.

I choose not to obsess over things I have no control over, but she worries about everything, just like my mother did.....logical, seeing as how they shared a bloodline...lol.

I hope we all have a safe evening and that the storm will be gone soon.

A tree doesn't stand a chance against that head. :D
@Millie , you and all of y'all in the Carolinas stay safe. Y'all are still very important to me. I'm just a little north of the Gulf so it will be our turn anytime.

Looks like the eye made landfall between North Myrtle and Sunset Beach a few mins ago. Just rain here so far, haven't seen any real wind yet.

Were getting some gusts now, nothing too bad and nothing sustained. At least this thing seems to be buzzing through pretty quick.

Came home to this big bastard down. It took out a power line, the power pole and streetlight and punched a hole in the top of the septic tank. Thankfully it missed the house. That line of storms that came through Winston was no joke.

There are several structures on fire in Ocean Isle Beach/oak island. Mutual aid called in from Myrtle Beach/Horry County.
