22 nosler

Shows .255 at the neck, I was looking at this right before you posted, threw me off a bit.

If its the same diameter as 223, why the need for a different barrel?

Yeah, that includes the thickness of the brass. Look at the bullet listed for the load data. It shows the bullet diameter at .224. Different barrel is needed because a different chamber is needed. Same reason a different barrel is needed for a 30-06 and a .308.

Didnt even think of the brass being larger, thus needing a larger chamber to be seated in!

Thanks for clearing that up man!

I just saw Nosler's ammo, 55gr was 3419 fps... I thought WOW thats pretty quick... Then I checked what 223 55gr shoots.. its right around 3200fps....
Wondering if the 180-200 fps extra is worth the extra cost.

Some of the new Nosler rounds are super performers.

My best guess is that right now only Nosler makes the brass.......which is both good and bad. Nosler brass is of excellent excellent quality..... however it's not cheap.

Only if you're shooting long range with 70+g bullets.

It's just another mainstream "wildcat" not worth buying another bbl after 4,000 rds to me.
Dont get me wrong, Yes, fun to tinker. But I have my fireball for that.
It is the fastest .22 around now. With 25% more powder.
