Is it worth having in a rifle? Better than a 22 magnum? I have similar calibers( .17 hmr, 22 mag, 5.7) already in rifles and have no experience with the caliber.

I know some like it in a pistol so just thinking out loud here.

I’ve got one in a pistol and love it. I’ve thought about a rifle but never followed through...sorry can’t directly answer your question on the rifle version!

No I don't reload and there is one on gunbroker I was watching but it has passed my willing to spend limit for something I don't need.

Hello to my TA brother vaskeet.

what name do you use on TA and if you ever get to the OBX you are welcome to shoot my 22tcm (1911) it is a great round it makes we smile and others at the range go "What was That!!!!!"

I'm curious about 22tcm in a pistol length barrel. A quick Google shows 40gn projectile over 2800 feet per second out of a 22.75" barrel. Basically a varmint round.

Any idea what it does in a pistol?
Big fireball?

They do right at 2000 fps out of a 5 inch 1911 huge fireball and lots of noise with a total absence of recoil

If you get to the upper OBX let me know and we can go play with it (OBX gun club)

The armory in VA beach Va normally has it in stock $19 a box /50 ( I live just across the border in NC )

Not sure about your local stores, but I have never seen it on the shelf. Ever.

It’s not a SAAMI round yet so I doubt you’ll see very many places carry it. Easiest thing to do would be to order it from offline.

I have seen it on the shelf at a lot of places, but not in huge quantities, and I have no clue if retail pricing is any good. I like the concept, but could never come up with a good reason to buy it. Too many other things I don't own.

Be aware that there are 2 different 22TCM rounds the 22TCM and the 22TCM9R the 22TCM guns can shoot either the 22TCM9R was made for the 22TCM conversion kits (RIA for Glock 9MM guns ) they are the same round with a different bullet The 9R bullet has a shorter nose so it will fit in the 9mm mags the standard 22TCM uses modified 38 super mags

I bought mine as much for the 9MM double stack 1911 as for the 22 TCM I have a early 22TCM/9mm combo

Doubt I will ever get into it unless the price is right.I am sure it is fun to shoot.
For a fireball I just shoot my FN 5.7 pistol at dusk.Better than a zapper on mosquitoes.I have an AR that shoots it as well but have not fired it yet.

It was pretty much made as a 1911 answer to the 5.7 pistol now armscor offers it as a conversion kit for glocks with other to follow

Cabelas in Garner had both 22TCM and 22TCMR last time I was up towards Raleigh...it was quite a few months ago though. I ordered all my online, though I can’t remember where from!

Makes more sense to me in a rifle vs handgun. Handgun ballistics I've seen put the 40gr (?) bullet at right about 2000fps. Puts it right up there with a .22 WMR carbine with flashbang.

but the carbine is hard to carry IWB

If anyone's looking for one, last time I was there three weeks ago, Church's Hardware in Wilkesboro had one of the Armscor M22 rifles in stock.
