It seems illegals are slowly (maybe not so slowly) gaining all the rights we believed were reserved for citizens. If I renounce my citizenship, do I still have to pay taxes? šŸ¤”

It's been very interesting watching libertarians try to defend this with arguments like "The second amendment is for everyone!" and "The founding fathers loved immigrants and would want everyone to be able to experience the American dream!". It would be funny if it wasn't so sad. It's as if they have no ability to distinguish between friend and foe. We've seen this as they tried to bond with anarchists and ethnonationalists during the BLM riots. They can't see anything past a mutual interest in firearms culture, even though the group they're trying to bond with is actively calling for their deaths.

Imagine this if you will. You're a libertarian, and you enjoy rights. So you support open borders and arming illegal immigrants because borders are authoritarian constructs and the right to be armed is a god given right that everyone is entitled to. Open borders means criminals will come in and vote against your rights, and giving them the ability to arm themselves means they kill you, so you lose your rights and country. It's almost as if being a principled loser is a sort of fetish for them. At the end of the day, many modern "libertarians" seem to just be liberals who hate paying taxes.

Anyway here's a little excerpt showing what specific types of immigrants the founding fathers wanted to allow in.

Yep - interesting how Constitution is enforced depending on the situation.

Does free speech apply to all? Right to bear arms? Obligation to pay taxes?

Would love to see a Mike Rowe diatribe about this

Itā€™s like my dad was told by the IRS after he borrowed money from HIS 401k to pay mom off in the divorce and keep the house. He was paying huge amounts for taxes and penalties. He called them after a couple years of doing so and asked if he could just write a check for the principal and be done with it. He was told that he was working, owned a home and property, the government would get every last cent and there would be no paying it off early! So, I wouldnā€™t look for any relief there. We vote the wrong way for that to happen!

Makes me wonder why I bothered to pay thousands of dollars in INS fees, medical fees, renewal fees etc.
Having a few close family members go through the same thing, I completely agree. It's pretty nuts the $$# and time/energy that the process takes. I'd fully expect a check back if mass legalization happened.

I had to do it twice because 75% through the first one they basically lost my file and told me "too bad, so sad, start over".

Yes, the invader would not need a permit to own a firearm. This apparently includes cartel members, foreign militias, maybe even chinese or russian soldiers. I don't see how this decision would be challenged, who would be the plaintiff . This judge has just created a new category, the "immigrant loophole."

You could but then youā€™d need to check ā€œYesā€ on 12b of the 4473. I assume doing so might negatively affect your ability to purchase firearms?šŸ¤”šŸŒŽ

Is being here illegally a felony? If yes, then it seems felon in possession of a firearm comes into play.

If not, then we need to make it a felony.
Misdemeanor crime, contact your members in Congress and demand the pass legislation to make it a felony to enter the USA illegally.

you can't call them Illegal Immigrants because the feds want them to be called newcomers. i have another name that would be more appropriate but not forum friendly.
Iā€™ve already been brainwashed from illegal alien to illegal immigrant.

The judge is an Obama appointee and undoubtedly ruled as she did: to give hope (and spread misinformation) to the left's beloved illegal aliens, to ridicule the Bruen decision; and in the absolute knowledge that the gun-hating 7th Circuit would reverse her ruling.

On one hand, our rights are often defined and or affirmed by the worst among us. On the other, when going to a foreign country, Iā€™ve done do with the idea that I have NO rights. I can choose to ignore the laws of said guest country and expect no treatment with regards to rights. Illegal aliens should likewise expect no ā€œrightsā€ what so ever.

Education should trump demonization.

So, way I see it is this:
The second amendment is a negative right. The right of the people to keep and bear arms cannot be infringed upon by the government. So they can't stop you from keeping and bearing.
The act of being illegally in the country means you need to be deported.

So, I think that the court was right to allow illegal aliens to bear arms. It should just arrest them and deport them for being illegal, rather than for carrying firearms. Problem solved.
