2nd Annual Battery Oaks Meet and Greet Picture Thread

Hahaha, after the little competition was over, Billy declared the range open and "to shoot at will." Well, @willpgn started looking for a place to hide. Somehow, he managed to stay safe.
Of course he stayed safe.

I was doin’ the shootin’. :(

I thought we had some pretty nice door prize gifts this year. My FFL buddy from Texas donated the 3 ladies concealed carry purses, the Caldwell shooting rest and, the pistol cases.
I never did find out...

Who donated the toothbrushes I won? o_O

My wife and I had a fantastic time meeting our hosts and many other members for the first time, Crazycarl stuck no less than three .41 Mag revolvers in my hands and not only were they beautiful guns, they shot beautifully!!

Actually only 2 .41Mags, both the stainless guns. That blued 10.5"er was my .357 Maximum, shootin' 200gr GCLWNs at ~1450fps. That thing was ringin' the hell outta them bottles.

Thanks to my host and hostess for a great time! I took pics, but have to figure out how to get them from the camera to this thread. (Good luck with that.)

Our little shooting contest brought out some good points yesterday. We finally came up with a system that allowed everybody to shoot as much as they wanted to. @Geezer and I thought long and hard how to get as many people qualified as we could for the money round. This included multiple tries.
Our original intent was to test folks with what they carry. 3 of the 5 "winners" followed the spirit of the test. One of them, who will remain nameless, pulled some Hoo-Doo while I was away from the event for 5 minutes. Be that as it may, the ones that went by the "rules" have my appreciation and respect. I won't make that error again. As soon as I can determine who would have finished in that person's place I will see that they get their prizes.

While I sit here, I am dumbfounded how somebody could show up at a gathering of people from an organization as good as this one and behave in a less than a Southern Gentleman's manner. My regulars and the great Shooter above looked out after me yesterday. Had I been made aware yesterday of this person's comments around the burn barrel and actions on the range, he would have been Number 4 in 15 years to vacate. You know who you are.

I aspire to have the temperament of my friend @Jeppo , but I ain't there yet.
 Did I read that right, 3 out of 5 of the winners complied?

@Chdamn and I just stood behind you and giggled while you shot that Maximum!

I thought we were doing Utube things?

Anyway, I can't add yet another thing to my devices, so I can't see these videos, but I know a guy that can help with peoples' shooting if they want to try to get a class together. I'm up for another one if you guys are!
Y'all have been shooting way longer than I have, so you should see a lot better results than I've been able to get....yet. LOL.

Next M&G I hope to try the Wiz and any other stuff Billy can come up with. My ONLY goal in these things is to get the shots on the target....Speed will come with more time, but right now I just want to hit what I'm aiming at. Sounds so simple, doesn't it?? LOL.

Ikarus1, sorry you had a bad shooting day. It was nice to see you and the Mrs. again.

I got to shoot @willpgn ’s AK-V and I had a good time getting those bottles swinging and shooting them on the move. Thanks again for letting me shoot it (and two mags of ammo)

The bad part about it was shooting the AK-V and wanting one for myself. Dammit

I was shooting 9mm anmo made by @Butter and not a single hiccup...nice and smooth.

Millie is convinced only the help you PAY for is any good. Free help from 60 year shooters is worthless.

Free help is the best help, in my mind. I truly hope to get over your way and reap the benefits from your knowledge and expertise soon.

This is so NOT true! Why are you saying that yet again! Stop that!!!

Sometimes it takes another way of things being presented to me for me to get it. You need to quit zapping me now. Y'all told me months ago that more than one trainer isn't a bad thing, when I lost my Jim's instructor.

I get that you think I'm an ungrateful moron, but it sometimes takes me time and some different language to get there....lol. I'm not perfect, like some of you expert shooters.

My latest instructor told me stuff in a way that I could get into my head. Sorry.

I'd love to have all you 60-year shooters come meet me at your place any time, and I'll be there trying to learn all I can. Give me a date and time, and I'll be happy to stay in the bunkhouse for a day or two, bring my gun and my ammo, and learn from y'all. I'm retired, I got the time.
I'm trying to learn from anybody I can, free or not.

I don't know who you're speaking of, but I'll bet it's the same cuss who pulled my chair out from under me!

There is absolutely no truth to the rumor I doctored your chair to get the photo! :(

I use mustard as a lube. I hold the base with one hand and, starting at the tip with the other hand, I slowly rub the entire length and girth with an open palm, twisting motion.

Once it’s wet all over I Yeet my dry rub all over it.
You mean MY dry rub
