Three more almost finished, I just need to do a little polishing/handle work.

I have been experimenting with wrapping the handle with twine or 550 cord, the soaking it in epoxy resin. These are made of leaf spring, except the smaller knife; I made that out of a Timken thrust bearing.

The bigger knife pictured (on the anvil) has sort of a Japanese-ish wrap of 550, then soaked in resin, the painted over with a mixture of bed liner and dust collected from my grinder. It makes a sure gripping handle, I'm just not sure if I like the looks of it yet.

Feedback is appreciated, positive or negative.

I dig the rustic look of these. Very cool man!

Hey wait, I want #2 ... :D

It looks like a manly meat cleaver. "The Man Cleaver", Mattyb I'll expect my check in the mail for naming the knife for you. In all seriousness they do look very cool.

Oddly enough, I started out with that one actually trying to make a meat cleaver, but just didn't have enough steel to work with. You must have ESPN or something.
