Can anyone help me out here? I’m thinking it’s a typo, I know the AR-15 should fit the 300BLK Cartridge, not the AR-10. Decided I’d rather have AR-15 in 300BLK, haven’t built before but seems like a good route to that end.

PSA AR-10 Classic stifle Kit (300BLK)

No AR-10 listed in the ad. they fixed it.

And yes the AR10 will not work with a 300blkout.

But don’t get a 16” .300 man. Don’t need all that barrel.

Glad I’m not crazy wondering if there was some wrinkle in the AR world I wasn’t aware of. I know the 300 blackout uses a necked up 5.56 case.

@barf you raise a good point though. I don’t really wannt pistol AR until I onow where braces are going to go, but I can wait a couple weeks and see what those answers look like.

Just SBR it. Call it a day.

@BigWaylon NFA question… if I started with a 300BLK Pistol, and SBR’d it, then added a rifle buffer tube and stock… Could I freely remove the stock from the rifle buffer tube and once again have a pistol (thus concealable under NC law) and add the stock to put it back in SBR configuration?

If braces "go" so does my respect for the NFA. Stocks fit me just fine
Haha, you’re gonna be in hot water suggesting you currently have respect for the NFA around these parts.

If you're running supers it can't hurt. I had a 16" ruger bolt gun in 300BLK and it ran the supers just fine, and subs were OK as long as you handloaded. The commercial stuff was just always on the edge and minor changes in atmospheric conditions would push them over the edge and you would get that unwelcome *crack* out of the suppressed 220gr.

Yes. As long as you don’t build a rifle first.

This can be as simple as attaching the upper before you put the stock on the existing buffer tube.

Nothing wrong (legally) with building a pistol with a 16” barrel.

In case it wasn’t clear…the “pistol length” in that description simply refers to the gas system.

I'm on my computer and it's not showing AR-10 in the description, but the page title in the html code still shows AR-10.

I’m just saying a .300 is for running subs. If you want a 16” rifle get 556. Cheaper ammo. The only reason I’m building a .300 is to suppress and have a short barrel. A .300 not suppressed is good for hunting and that’s it IMO.

Orrrrr 300BLK is for versatility. Having the option of running 220gr subs or 110gr supers by only changing mags. My 8.5” and 10.5” setups handle both very well, but the more barrel, the more velocity, the better performance of those supers.

I have an 8" 300blk and it is accurate as hell at 100yards. I can ping 8" plates every single time. That is all you need. Get a LEGAL pistol brace

A firearm that shoots ~8moa is considered “accurate as hell”?

None of these are even armalite pattern AR-10s. Theyre LR-308 compatible. 300 blk has no place in a .308 size action.

Bless you sir! Nothing worse than witnessing everyone and their sister calling everything in a large AR frame an AR-10. That's like walking around calling every sports car a Mustang, regardless of it's make.

MOST of us here know this. Yet I still call all generic soda a "coke". I will still call all large frame "ARs" an AR-10, just like I'll call all small frame AR15s an AR-15. I damn well know that all 3 of my AR-10s are actually LR308s; but alas I'll continue calling them AR-10s because that's just what most people know them as.

Now, what's your favorite coke? Mine is Mellow Yellow. :D

That's your prerogative, if you prefer that more power to ya. My favorite Coke is Coke!
