I was looking into getting a basic rifle course under my belt but not sure where to go. I have narrowed it down to 37 psr and their rifle seminar and The Range Complex (TRC) level I carbine. I know the price and ammo count difference but not sure about the quality or material covered. From what I have been told by a former SF buddy is that 37 psr has top-notch instructors. From the class description at psr 37 it looks like alot of class time and not much shooting, while TRC is the opposite.

If anyone has experience with either I would love to know your opinion.

Also, which course were you thinking for PSR?
I was thinking Basic Carbine when I responded before.

Are you talking about different one (such as Advanced Carbine 1?

I was thinking of Basic Carbine. The main reason I wasn't looking into Tactical Carbine is that you either need to take Basic Carbine or test out, and im not sure i could test out of Basic Carbine.

I hadn't looked at the raid course before because from the outside it looks too advanced but now I look at it more it's probably what will work for me.

I have not been to 37PSR. I took the home defense/low light class at The Range Complex. It is a great range. My instructor, Alan Holland, was very good. The shoot house we used was simple. I think it was 4 rooms with no hallways or anything, just rooms opening to other rooms. That was perfectly fine, since we were doing the basics of movement, so keeping it at a simple level was appropriate. I would definitely go back to TRC for another class, no hesitation.

Great, this gives me some good info when making my decision.

The class description reads that the drills are practiced with airsoft and then validated with live fire, was this the case when you took the class?

Modern Tactical Shooting (member here) holds his classes at Woody's...

Edited to see that he posted here.

Oh sweet, I met you at one of the Zoo City two-gun matches. I'm about to signup at Woody's, I'll signup up for one of your classes too.

I took many classes at TRC, nothing but good to say about instructors(real life heroes and true warriors)
trainings, and range combination they offer. I started as one day pistol class, and one day rifle, during past 6 years, I attended theri two days pistol/carbine class, pistol with red dot optic, night/home defence pistol class(performed in real shoot house), and a couple of two day tactical courses. By far they have better prices for what they offer, you learn from guys who were delta fors for a couple of decades, rengers, special force operators and members of Fayetteville swat, they make you feel comfortable and extremely respectful, they work with you no matter if you're novice or an active member of special forces, you will learn a lot, become humble after listening to some true war stories and walk away with more knowledge and respect for what these guys offered to this great nation and to students who join these classes. Pay your hard earned money with confident as TRC is among one the best. No disrespect to other facilities and instructors but for me, by far worth every penny and drive from Raleigh to attend any class at this facility.

Id take the carbine class with velox, nick goes over alot, you shoot alot. Youll be better with a carbine at the end.
