Hello all,

I am in a dilemma. I have a Sig 522 with a pending form 1. I plan to chop it down to a 4" rifle do all suppressed rimfire. Originally I planned on a x2 or x4 ACOG for this build and while extremely expensive, I thought a compact ACOG may be the way to go. Imagine my pleasant surprise when I saw that Primary Arms had a x6 .22lr scope w/ACSS .22 reticle that I thought was the answer and with a price tag of less than $300 I was super siked!! Here I am just months out (hopefully) and I decided its time to start getting parts and I watched my first Primary Arms x6 rimfire reticle and found out its not a 1x6 but rather a fixed power x6 reticle. Now I am questioning if this is the right choice or not. In your semi-professional opinion, what is the right choice for a magnified .22lr SBR optic?

Thanks in advance
Jason

I definitely wouldn't want a fixed 6X. But, I run red dots on all my ARs anyway. I could see a 1-4, or maybe a 1-6, but with what I use my 4" 22LR SBR for a nonmagnified RDS works well.

I'd never put a fixed mag scope on a 4" Sbr.

You are going to want zero magnification 99% of the time.

I'd get a red dot personally.

I plink with a 2MOA Aimpoint on my short 22lr conversion. I mostly play around at 50yd on in so it works pretty well. I thought about trying something with more power and seeing if I can have any luck farther out but haven't gotten around to doing that yet.

OK guys, I am convinced. I decided I am going to give the Sig Romero 5 red dot a shot. Price is right, I like the motion activated on and off and I think the weight with a 1x6 on a SBR .22 would be foolish now.
Thanks
Jason
