saw this posted on AR15, and guy said he wasn’t a member here...so I got his name/number and said I’d post it up.

As much as it pains me to do so, I’ve got to find my dog a new home. I’ve had him for the past three years, and he was there for me a lot but he’s needing more physical attention that I can provide for him. Add to that I’ve got a two year old who we keep at home, work 12+ hour shifts now, and a wife whose time is split between working, taking care of my son, and helping take care of elderly family members, it’s just not a fair situation for him.

He’s a hound dog mix, or so the SPCA told me when I adopted him. He’s five years old, up to date on all his shots minus his bordetello. Crate trained and house trained, gets along with our cat.

He’s a good dog, just needs a lot of attention that we can’t provide to him anymore due to how busy our lives have gotten with ourselves and helping family. Don’t want to just drop him off at a shelter where he could be put down if not adopted but don’t know where else to ask for a good home for him.

Hoping someone can point me into the right direction. I live in Fuquay-Varina, and will give whoever can take him everything I have for him (ie crate, months worth of food, shampoo, leash, collar, etc).

If anybody is interested, send me a PM and I’ll give you his contact info

The one pic in the thread...his name is Roscoe:

I had the same thought. But I can also respect a person that loves a pet enough that when he can no longer provide what it needs, he seeks out a better situation.

Do they have an estimate of his size? When I start asking around, people always ask me how big the dog is

As I offered for the other pup posted I will do the same for this one.
I will sponsor his flea/tick and heartworm meds for the next 6 months to help ease the expenses on the new family.

I work in Fuquay so if I can be of assistance let me know.
Tell him to check with local vets(we have quite a few within a 5 mile radius).May find a family that lost a pet looking for a new buddy.

Hello all, I’m Roscoes owner. Like it says above, I hate to part with him just getting to point I can’t give him all the attention he needs with everything on my plate. Not fair to him, cause he really is a sweet dog.

Gets along with our cat, though will occasionally dine in her litter box if we aren’t careful. For most part, he likes laying around sunning or following us around the house .

If anyone is willing to give him a good home I can potentially meet halfway (depending when/where). Like previously stated, you’ll get all his stuff to ease the transition process for him.Does have a crate, but you need to zip tie the edges where it meets cause he doesn’t like thunder storms and if he’s in it when one comes through he will break out of it. Also has bent one crate door to point I have to run some chain through it to keep him in or else I’ll come home from the store with him walking around.

Have a lady whose a teacher with two kids going to pick him up later today. I talked to her at length the other day and meet her, seems like she and her girls will be a really good fit for him. Still kills me to do it though, I just keep telling myself I have to do what’s best for him

So far so good, I’ve been in touch with the woman and he’s a perfect fit for them them. He’s got two little girls who are loving all over him, goes in several runs a week, and is getting his own bed to lay in.

still miss him, but he’s happy

Male and female dogs seem to naturally be drawn to little girls. I think it's the combo of the excitement and high pitch voice. Glad to hear!
