6.5 Creedmoor in an M1A

True, but if jumping into other calibers helps increase sales, then why not?

SA, Inc. offered M1A rifles chambered in .243WIN, 7mm-08 and (I believe) .307WIN back in the early 90's. Primarily for export to other countries where civies couldn't own rifles in military calibers, but also sold in the US.

Most people like to reload 6.5 and the M1A is a brass mangler...and loud to suppress. I’m with Bunsen....I personally dont have a need for this. I’ll take mine in .308

Yeah, I had just never seen any M1A in another caliber...

Like dressing up up a hot chick to look like Stephen Hawking..
Why?

Let's see, 6.5 Creed in an M1A. Sorta like putting a diamond in an ash tray.

Late to this party, but didn't Capt. James Kirk do something like that to defeat the Gorn? ;)

Complete waste of ammo. If you want a semi auto 6.5CM get a AR10 in 6.5. It will be more accurate, weigh less, and cost less.

In the past they have made them in different calibers that used the same case as the 308.....like said, if you can make a buck on them, why not.

M1A/M14 is a very good rifle, just not a benchrest rifle.

“Only accurate rifles are interesting,” Col. Townsend Whelen

And that right there is why I'm lukewarm on the M1A. Cool gun, but accuracy even in a match tuned gun can be problematic. It seems to be a maintenance pig to keep the accuracy up. Far easier to do it in an AR type rifle.

You might be more accurate, but you'll never be as cool! :p
