Think it's a type 38 Arisaka in 6.5 jap. Looking for value to list. Nice blue good bore. Looks like handguard has been cut/sporterized. 20180916_154655.jpg 20180916_154716.jpg 20180916_154819.jpg

Its a butchered Type 44 Cav Carbine... damn shame... They chopped the front end off of it and turned the bolt down.

    Hows it shoot?

Value is not much since restoring it to original status isn't likely to happen.

Let me know if when/ you decide to move it... I'm a sucker for nice shooting 6.5 japs.

Haven't shot it. Was part of my father's collection. Just slowly going through things I'm not sure of. What value would you put on it.

Me personally ... sported Arisakas don't pull more than $1-150 is. Assuming its still in 6.5x50

I got a sporterised one too, I even got the original bayonet with it. I paid $15 for it in the ‘70’s.

Dang has the chrysanthemum. A shame it’s like it is. That one was likely a bring back from being captured. The Japs filed it off before turning in stock piles of weapons after the war to save face, as the mark indicated it belongs to the Emperor. It would have been much more valuable than 15o.

If not modded, what is the value looking like? We have one, little darker wood, anti aircraft sights, markings still on it. Its in very good shape.

Just found ammo for it. Looks like 2 boxes of norma and 5 bags of 20 per bag on stripper clips. 1 bag of spent cases & stripper clips. 20180916_202314.jpg 20180916_202322.jpg

If you need a bayonet let me know. I too would consider restoring it. It looks like you just need to extend the fore-end and hand guard. And straighten the bolt handle.
