9mm Suppressor Suggestions

A 9mm octane would qualify me for the Warlock, but thats a big outlay of cash. I don't need a .45, I'm not shooting anything bigger than 9mm.

Who has the Octane for $599? The two places I just checked had it for $499.

I can only hope this one goes better than the last promo. I got my free one approved before some people even got theirs submitted. It took 2+ years for some people to get their “free” one.

Ok guys, I'm back. Silencerco has a bogo suppressor event going on.

Wait, they're doing this again? Was it Silencerco or SiShop that had such a train wreck a few years ago?

The price isn't $599. Its a promotion. If you spend $599 before tax then you can get a free Warlock .22 suppressor.
You said an Octane 9 would qualify you…which means it has to cost at least $599. That’s why I asked.

Although that having somebody mark it up $100 to get the Warlock simply means you bought a rimfire can for $100…which ain’t bad.

According to the link up above, SiCo is doing it again. They’re the one that butchered it in 2018.

Ahh, gotcha. Yeah they have it at $624 which as you showed, is an awful price. To get the octane you have to spend $799 before tax. I could get an Omega .30 and the 9mm Octane, but I think I'm going to avoid the promotion and just get a .22 can like I planned.

I’d look into the Rugged deal at SS. Even if it’s just the Mustang or Oculus.

@RugerP89DC

i own a DA mask and TacSol ascent. Very happy with both although my two suggestions are the following:

1) avoid aluminum baffle cans (eg tacsol ascent, rugged mustang) because the baffles arent compatible with ultrasonic cleaning. The marginal weight benefit isnt worth the cleaning headache. Had I known at the time I would have picked the TacSol axiom over the ascent.

2) dedicated can for most applications especially for rimfire. Over-bored suppressors suck (with the primary exception of a .30 cal can on a 223 AR which is due to less back pressure from the .30 can)

the mask is a tad heavy but excellent construction and a solid choice. ive got a rugged oculus in jail. Can’t comment on it yet but if it’s like the other rugged products I’ll be happy.

The oculus looks intriguing, especially given the size and weight in k configuration. Share your thoughts once you get it running

SiCo is claiming the free ones will be sent within the first six months.

I'm new to cans, can you explain this to me?
In case you missed it…turn your phone sideways and notice it’s in my signature.

It’s a pretty basic concept. Easiest comparison is to think about a movie or live action theater. Do they have bare shiny walls? Nope. You’ll see coverings of some kind. Acoustic tiles in studios, etc. Same concept. You don’t want a big echo chamber.

Now, it’s not a huge difference. But far too many people think you have to clean them and get them back to their showroom shine. At some point it’s diminishing returns as you lose internal volume. But you can open one up, knock them chunks out, and put it back together…and stay quieter than if you tumbled them with SS pins or did a soak in the dip or used an ultrasonic cleaner.
