@Geezer and I spent our own money and time to buy guns and ammo for folks on a tight budget. We found out that the SCCY and Taurus Spectrum were bullet proof. Going 1,200 rounds without even cleaning with flawless functioning.
@Millie still doesn't understand that a comfortable/concealable hand gun is usually not conducive to going to the range and shooting 300 rounds through. When she goes she shoots A lot....doesn't mean she learns A lot, just shoots A lot. I told her that doing the same Bad thing over and over won't ever become a Good thing, no matter how long you do it. She needs a comfortable/concealable gun to carry, with enough firing to determine it is functional, then relegate it to Carry. She likes big Heavy guns because she is recoil shy. She is recoil shy because she started off on her own, got some not so good instruction and then added a certain amount of Hard Headedness. We love her here and we accept her as she accepts us, with all our foyables. She like some others lately have been hit with strange, life changing events. We need to all remember, she is a single person with all of life's costs that never go away. If I could get her to have the following arsenal she would be fixed for shooting and carrying.
For shooting...a sa/da auto .22 of any brand that is known for reliability
For carrying...a used G43 or SCCY
For Kitchen gun....what she has already
These choices would lock her in to reliable guns that wouldn't break the bank.
She wants a 1911 45...expensive to run..like she want to run. 300 rounds at a time.
I gave her one once to keep as long as she wanted to shoot it. She went out and bought one. Kinda defeated the purpose.
She is a good person, she just does whatever she wants to even After pages of info from all the CFFrs. So when she starts with this kind of thing, accept that no amount of your experience or expertise is going to sway her. AND showing her pictures of expensive firearms is only pissing her off...
