If I ever hit the lottery here’s my Dream Project Mustang Purchase ... P-51 that is ... for $4.5 million for an unmolested fixer upper 1944 P-51D ...

Man, I’d have to get a little more training than the old single engine Cessna I had years back ... and NFA paperwork for 6 aviation configured .50BMG M2’s

It's $4.5 million and with all the extras that come with it, that's a steal. However, the real serious money comes into play after the purchase when the "fixer upper" starts getting fixed up. Well, if it is going to get restored to museum quality anyway.

Depending on how the person handles it another couple million just to get it flying to Lord knows what for a nut and bolt restoration. Time also would be a year to just get flight worthy and then getting it recertified by the FAA since the C of A (if it ever had one) is long expired would almost be an act of God. But I can dream ...
