Great video on a nice Colt. I have been wanting a new Combat Elite, to replace my original Series 80 Colt Custom shop Combat Elite. Which has a collet bushing BTW.

These Colt 1911 Classics are now out in the wild and everywhere. They were harder to find back in July. They can be had for around $655-$680 give or take depending on vendor. They are basically a Colt 80 series without a firing pin safety and the old/new roll marks. https://gunprime.com/products/colt-1911c-45-acp-1911-national-match-o1911c

You've got one of the early Series 80s that's technically a Series70/80 pistol. During the transition, Colt...never one to waste perfectly good parts...just used up their existing stocks of collet bushings and accurizer barrels. Fairly rare.
Just be sure to back the slide up a half inch before turning the bushing and you'll probably never have a problem with it.

I have a 1984 Government Model that has the collet bushing.
The new gun is a good job of recreating a pre 70 Commercial Model. Woulda been dead on with a nicer finish.
I want to take one and put a few Harrison pieces in it and do a sleeper build. Trigger job etc and then have it reblued with matte rounds and polished flats.

That's about the right timeline for a 70/80. The first Series 80s appeared in early '83.
