Abscessed tooth ouch!!!

Not crowns (I'm not the crown guy anyway), but in some states you can go directly to a tech and get a partial/denture made. NC ain't one.
I have been doing this for 53 years. I have personally made well over 300,000 dentures. The one thing I can tell everybody on here is this...you nor anybody you know, wants a denture or partial made by a DENTIST. I say this after dealing with hundreds of them in the past 53 years. I have never known ONE that was capable of making a denture. Thankfully, I have never had to deal with one who wanted to. The ones I have known heavily rely on the techs that do the work. From 1976 through 1980 we saw over 600 patients a day and processed a thousand dentures a day. We signed them up at 2 AM and by 6 PM all were done, the money counted and we staggered out the door. Shop for Dentists like you would anything else. I never met but 3 in 53 years that I wanted to spend time away from work with. Hell, they probably felt the same way about me.

I've been doing it for only 2 years and whole heartedly agree that many dentists are prima donnas that want to experiment on you for fun. Why anybody would want a Canine Q Seal, 5 saddle cast partial, or swing lock is beyond me, but the Rx always reads like the Dr is wanting to play. We also work with some high end prostheticians and we make some absolutely stunning work for them, restoring dentition to people that are missing large pieces of jaw, etc.

We had a dentist that insisted on grinding her own bites into her try ins. Guess what kind of burr she used: a polish wheel. Needless to say, the teeth would be absolutely burned up.

Y'all do full customs with rugae and whatnot or economy?

Took a peek at prices and what insurance covers, think I'll use the money on my truck instead.
I was sitting at church a few weeks later and more than one old deacon (pillars of the community, who I knew had money) leaned over to smile, shake my hand, and greet me, and I noticed a couple of them were missing a tooth or two.

I figured if they don't care, why should I? :)

If the root canal procedure is successful, the tooth can last a lifetime as long as it is not damaged or develops a cavity.
I took a baseball to the mouth in junior high. Had braces, so we didn't know it was loose until next ortho visit when he noticed the very top had a grey tiny to it. Had a root canal done (one of my top/front teeth) roughly 30 years ago, and no issues with it since.
