Considering putting a killflash on my 2 acogs, but it looks like the one commercially available (made by tenebraex) has pretty mixed reviews on line. Namely, it sounds like the plastic is pretty cheaply made and is pretty prone to breaking.

Does anyone have a particular experience with this brand of killflash? Bonus points if you're actually running it though classes/shooting comps/etc not just a stationary paper puncher.

Thanks!

The Trijicon Tenebraex Killflash is the one that comes on the factory ACOGs...hell, its the only one I am even aware of thats made for the 4x32's. I have used them on ACOGs since early 2000's and never had one break...had the rubber retention band break once on one, and messed up the aluminum killflash screen on the same one when a stick ran up in it, but never cracked the killflash housing itself.

The kill flash really is not necessary unless you are concerned about someone seeing the lens "flash" and locating your position; its just an anti-reflection device, it is not going to change the performance of your ACOG.

I always thought of it more as a lens protector, which in that function it did perform for me once.
