Hey guys,

I’ve tried to Google this unsuccessfully. I don’t have a CC license and about 2 years ago bought 5 PPP. My wife and I have since moved. Is there a way to have the address updated on my current permits or do I need all new ones?

You need new permits. As a FFL they have to match your ID. Maybe a private sale the person would not care.

I was told in the last year by the IOI who did my audit that the addresses do not have to match and that it still counts as an exemption from a NICS check. She checked with her higher ups before answering my question about that.

Just called the Sheriff's office. The lady I spoke with said I needed new permits, so I went ahead and submitted my application online. It was dumb of me to not think of this before. Oh well, I'll just forget about it and hopefully the permits will arrive in 2-3 weeks.

That will be the safest bet for you.

My last audit I was told the exact opposite that they had to match. So go figure. Safest bet is to have them match.

Agreed. The interesting part to me was that she went up the food chain to get that answer and gave it to me in writing.

I don't think there is anything at all in state or federal law that the addresses have to match. It is likely just a policy decision that depends on who you ask.

This was the problem when I worked PT for an FFL dealer. One agent came in and said this and that and the next comes in and tells you the total different story.I think the alphabet people need to get their ducks in a row.
