Looks like they have updated the geometry on their feed cones. Some were reporting issues with bullets feeding, mainly hollow points. My uncle was the one to tell me about this and send me the link as he has been having issues with his EPC9. I haven’t personally had any feeding problems with mine, but I also don’t think I’ve ever shot anything other than ball.

Actually now that I think about it, I did have a lot of feeding issues with Federal Syntech 150gr which is a flat tip bullet.

I posted several years ago about this type of problem with my AR9 that is a CMMG colt pattern lower. Seems like the same thing going on with the Aero.

I finally got around to mailing my barrel out about the end of June and it just arrived back to me, so about 4 week turnaround time frame, not too bad.

They have added a much better feeding cone design to the barrel. Should eliminate any issues with HP and flat nose bullets.

Thanks for sharing. I've had the bits to put together an EPC9 for a while but never made time to do it. Maybe I should send the barrel in before I even start assembly

How did this turn out? Reliable now?

Well, I guess it feeds better…probably, I only got one mag through it and had an out of battery detonation and screwed up my mag release. I emailed them for warranty work on 10 January and never heard back. Honestly forgot about it till you just posted this so thanks for reminding me! Guess I need to give them a call or resubmit the claim.

Yes you should definitely sent it in first. They require that you remove all “non Aero parts” before sending it in so you’ll likely have to disassemble anyway.

What a pain in the a$$. I’d be super annoyed.

Yeah I’m surprised at their lack of communication, the barrel upgrade was pretty hassle free.

Sent another email right after I posted this and still hadn’t heard back so I just gave them a call this morning. Took about 20mins of being on hold but once I got someone on the phone, he was super cool and said he was going to ship me out all the components to the mag release so I could swap it out.

Man..I don't know, only barrels here are from Macon Armory, Rudy does great work.
all of mine are on SMT 9mm uppers, SMT Colt lowers. no issues. Just my $1.50 worth

The replacement parts just arrived today a little over a month later. Got it installed and seems to solve the problem, I’ll test fire this weekend.

The damaged and new mag release
