This kind of behavior is/has been the norm for these guys for a long time. The AG needs to do a strong and thorough purge of this and other upper echelon agencies its very unbecoming for guys in this realm to behave like this. It just shows how corrupt the system is. How does people like this earn the respect of regular citizens?

They Don't.

It's not the system, it's the person. If you have ever worked for a company where you have to travel, you will see guys in every profession doing stuff like this. Hell, how many people do you know that don't travel but still have affairs? Some guys just can't control the little head.

I'm not arguing your point I agree with you, but

I don't care how many does it. People of this caliber should loose their job because of the agency they represent and the importance of their job. They are a reflection of their agency.

How does an FBI agent, supervisor or otherwise, afford a $6,000 Rolex?

Because they rape your paycheck every pay period.

Taxation is theft.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/09/us/politics/fbi-stolen-gun-stolen-charlotte.html

In July, Robert Manson, a unit chief in the F.B.I.’s international terrorism section, had his Glock .40-caliber handgun, a $6,000 Rolex watch and $60 in cash stolen from his room at the Westin hotel in Charlotte, N.C., according to a police report.

How does an FBI agent, supervisor or otherwise, afford a $6,000 Rolex?

FBI agents get paid well enough, I could see him being able to afford a $6,000 Rolex with some saving and planning.

What corruption are you talking about?

So the guy hooks up at a bar how does this reflect on him as an agent? Was he supposed to have his weenie removed when he got the job?

You wouldn't question some dumb redneck spending 6k on a 4 wheeler why would you when he bought a watch that would actually hold its value?

It's obvious that they will never have your respect so my question is what do you do or the person you can't please? Answer-- Nothing

Govt credit card = Rolex, or it could have been used or never existed.
What a jerk to let his service weapon get stolen.
Hotel has room safe. Hope they can get video from elevator cams.
Hope he still has his ID card.

So well over twice the annual average individual income of the citizenry at large in these United States.

"Government is the great fiction through which everybody endeavors to live at the expense of everybody else." ~Bastiat

I guess you think they should make minimum wage?

A unit chief's salary is around $137k per Glassdoor.com. Pretty easy to afford a $6k watch in that case.

I think every last one of them should be out on their asses. There is no rule of law, anymore, only the law of rulers. That's why people like LaVoy Finicum, Vickie Weaver, Kenneth Trentadue, and all those folks burned alive in the Branch Davidian compound got themselves dead, and scum like Robert Meuller and James Comey are still breathing.

Infidelity, no Bravery, zero Integrity.

And that salary doesn’t seem crazy to me. I don’t know what they really do all day, but it isn’t exactly unskilled labor.

I would question any extravagant luxury item if my tax dollars are paying his salary.

Do you have to clear large expenses with your employer? I mean, he pays your salary...

The dude earns a salary and can spend it however he wants. Is it worth wondering what his salary is and then asking if it's reasonable? Sure thing. And the $140K salary for his level seems reasonable. Is it worth wondering if he collects money through unsavory means through abusing his position? Sure thing. But unless/until we see some evidence, let's not hang the guy based on random suspicion.

I am really starting yo understand the need for smaller government. However, no government in history has voluntarily made itself smaller.

For the record, I think corporate executive compensation is out of whack too.

I can't get too revved up over how much money he bilks from the tax slaves; all of it's theft, so it's just an order of magnitude. Or do I care much what he spends his ill-gotten loot on, and even whether it's a real Rolex or not. What I wanna know is, how many on this board could get themselves so thoroughly unmanned as to lose your handgun, watch, and cash? In a hotel room? To a strange woman?

And admit it publicly?

If your concept of personal security hasn't evolved any further than that, how'd you ever get past "fry-boy" on the career path?

This is very well said.

Its obvious that I lack articulate skills but he said what I was trying to say.

No - but as public servants, they out not be making multiples of what the public they serve make, either.

I know lots of public folks that make way more than a FBI agent does. Maybe we could get some better qualified agents for $30k?

First question is great, and bears directly on my uninformed opinion about his ability to fulfill his responsibilities.

Second must be rhetorical, surely he had to report it because he lost his service weapon.

A. It really doesn't matter that he lost the Glock 22, he was about to lose it anyway, since they're switching to the G19M. He'll get issued a new G19M no worries!

B. Had he stayed in a Holiday Inn Express this wouldn't have happened, well because he stayed in a holiday Inn Express. Obviously.
