Prime example of a handgun not readily being stop a determined assailant who means to hurt you without damn good shot placement to the CNS or say heart. That LEO fired about 10 rounds before the guy went down permanently. The LEO did have out a spring baton so he was not straight up gunning at the idiot but still he had to take multiple shots ... for what I’m guessing was a shot to the CNS or heart. The 21 foot things we hear of in self defense was pretty much shown there and honestly the LEO was lucky he made it out without serious injury.

The 21 foot rule is just about Gospel! You will get hurt if 1) you're within striking distance and 2) you're not ready to pull that trigger! Under 21 feet, it's a toss up on who wins, it's usually the most determined.

Hoping to hit the "cops shoot unarmed <non-white> man" lottery?

Although, it does look like the cop used lethal force against an unarmed guy... who was doing a nice job of beating the cops face in so maybe there is hope for us regular small people who might resort to lethal force against a larger foe and find it justified.

Very sad someone goes that far to have another end their life. Sad for someone that desperate and sad a man had to end another’s life and live with it the rest of his life. Mental illness with no help anymore leads to this and massive imprisonment. Mental illness is viewed with disgust by the public. Depression is more common than most know. He had a death wish and the cop gave him an opportunity some would not have. Sad video.

The really sad part is that officer will be beating himself up for a very long time replaying this scenerio in a game of
..shoulda', coulda', woulda' ...

I vehemently disagree, If you're a smart officer (which narrows the numbers) you review what you did, why you did it and the repercussions of not having done it. Once those are taken into consideration if you were right, you move on and don't look back.
If, in your mind you can't justify your actions then you have issues that you'll need to deal with....

Mr. Boat , Totally agree. Back in the day when I was just starting out "in the business" (when dinosaurs roamed the earth), a wise old Sergeant told me a Rule that worked for him: "Take no guff. Cut no slack. Hook 'em, Book 'em and don't look back."

Your point is well taken. To be clear, the officer's action was indeed ( IMO) justified...No question...
I was merely pointing out that often the " right or wrong " of something (can ) be a moot point in the grand scheme of things....PTSD can be a bitch....
