I'm going through some range brass. I seem to have a bunch of this Aguila 5.56.

Just curious and trying to determine if this is factory stuff or someone's half-assed hot reloads. Maybe shot out of a gun I'm not familiar with.

Every single one has extractor swipes to varying degrees and many have ejector marks almost like I would expect from hot loads in a blowback action not what I'd expect in a AR.

It seems like maybe the primer pockets could be swaged.... Or just shoddy from the factory. Strait out of the bucket. Some are missing primers and some have primers set back. I deprimed a couple. Tension is all over the map. The primers are so soft they distend out. Pierced one...

Then on the nose. They don't seem to have been trimmed. The factory cannelure (that sawtoothed pattern I see on once fired brass with canneleured projectiles) is present.

With varying degrees of body scratches and a few dents from cycling. Plus a few split case necks...

The more I go through the more tempted I am to scrap it all because of the unknowns.

What say ye?

Also strange that a reloader would leave their brass behind...

At less than .04 cents a piece, 5.56 brass is nearly worthless. Scrap em and get some LC brass
I could use some LC at $40/k, where?
