I’m heading to AL and will be close to TN. I won’t have time for distillery tours, but will have time to do some liquor store shopping. Any bourbons I should look for? If possible, copy the previous post and paste that list into your post ans add your spirit(s) to it so there’s a single list at the end… exactly what we did for the long forgotten “Pass it along” box.

TN bourbons:
1. Chattanooga Whiskey
2.
<copy ^^^^^ and add yours below>

Thanks in advance!

In Tennessee, look for the 100 proof (white label) version of Very Old Barton. The 86 proof version is good, but the 100 proof is really good. Avoid the 80 proof and the 90 proof.

The wise-ass answer is…. 🥸

I’ll be in Huntsville most of the week with a day trip to Lanette.

Damn.

Call me geographically retarded but I was having trouble seeing those two states sharing a border.

Check out youtuber Brewzle. He does quite a bit of bourbon hunting in AL.

Yeah, you said TN, but this is all I got.

I was just being funny! Don’t feel bad - I didn’t realize AL and TN shared a section of border until researching this trip.

I may also try to pop over to Anniston to see if the CMP has any Garands in stock. I need one more so each kid gets one after I kick the bucket!

Damn, again.

I just picked up the Groucho Marx reference.

What the hell is wrong with me?

I was just there a couple of weeks ago. Talladega Marksmanship Park had a better quality selection of "regular" Garands than the CMP South Store - though the South Store had more rifles out and a better variety of grades, makes, variations, etc. And the South Store had 1903A3s, which Talladega did not. If you have the time, get there early and hit both. I only went to 2-3 liquor stores in AL, and saw nothing worth buying that you can't already get everywhere here. YMMV...

Mike Rowe from dirty Jobs has a Tennessee whiskey. Maybe give that a try.

Dang! I would have absolutely bought a Mike Rowe whiskey! I’m already back from my trip. Here’s my haul…. Not pictured are 3x6 packs of triple IPAs by Sierra Nevada (12%!!! and it’s awesome!) and along with another 8 unique stouts stouts.

Chattanooga Whiskey is absolutely amazing. Strong, flavorful and easy to drink.
