I like it. I always hated their tendency to cover the motor but this one shows it off. +1
Styling is much better. +1
Like the frame and front fork. +1
All the electronic gadgetry..the things that work engine and suspension management I like, the heated this and GPS that I could live without.
But maybe I'm not the one to ask. I've always liked Goldwings. Ride one in these here mountains and you'd be startled at what these bad boys will do. They handle freakin great...way better than their size would indicate. Search Yellow Wing/Deals Gap if you wanna see someone who can ride the hell out of one. Beware the old man on a Goldwing, that ain't his first bike.
Of all the GW's though, this one is still my favorite.
I've done the electric work for Ohlins USA for 11 years. Raced against them boys many a times too. That 'wing he's riding doesn't have a stock GW suspension
What not to do st Deals Gap.
That corner shown at :30 and 2:15...everybody eats it there. Mainly cause it's intensely decreasing radius and folks get in too hot, but also because the camera guys set up there since everyone crashes and people see them and think oh look I'm so cool getting mah pic and then they crash.
The supermoto guys..they're supposed to crash. If your leathers aren't all rashed-up you got no 'creds.
All the local guys I know, including me, avoid the dragon like the plague. It's squidly as hell and there's TN cops everywhere. The only time we ever go is when someone is visiting and they just have to ride the dragon. Ok. (groan)
I will never pay over $24,000 for a motorcycle...EVER. Perfectly satisfied at over 50 years old on my $3000 used 1200 sportster that is my daily commute. No reason at all, ever, to pay AT MOST $10k for a motorcycle. Harley included. Wait, no, please go buy the twenty thousand dollar motorcycles and let them sit in your garage for ten years and then sell them to me almost brand new for chump change. Thanks!
You can still walk after a long ride ,if he's riding a "cool bike" he can't. An iron butt ride leaves the pretenders behind. My son calls my ST1300 an old man's bike. I'll never hear the end of it if I get a GW!
And this is why they are in trouble with the old money dying every day, they are loosing customers. You can buy 2 new high quality, better feature motorcycles for what 1 CVO cost.$24K? My buddy paid $42K for his CVO Road Glide.

I like HD motorcycles, but they are going to have to make BIG changes. I really just like motorcycles in general, most brands any types.
I'm 2nd generation scooter trash & bleed black & orange, but I'll never buy a new Harley again. Like Goofyfoot said earlier, too many pristine, 10-20 y/o garage queens available for pennies on the dollar.
VFR's kick ass. That's another sleeper. He has a VFR, so he's on an old man's bike too.
Norman Reedus rode it for his "reality tv" show. Someone at Deal's Gap says "yippy look like that guy from Walking Dead!"We only go to the store and get a cold drink and see what kind of crazy is there and then turn around and go ride roads that they don't know about. We used to ride it a good bit back in the early '90's. Now it's just too crazy with all the car clubs and racer wannabes
That's a Valkyrie, not a GW. I have one of the older Valkyries, a 98. Love it. One of my favorite bikes. I'm not a big fan of those fenders and exhaust on that model.I like it. I always hated their tendency to cover the motor but this one shows it off. +1

I love my 97 GL1500. wouldn't mind if it had a bigger tank and bags. surely wont find them on the new GW
sadly the "new technology" the have developed , like the electric windshield and front suspension , seem borrowed from my 2002 BMW
