I did a new thing today for snack food.

Some spicy venison jerky. It has red pepper flakes, cayenne and a couple diced habaneros. Not as hot as it sounds, but has a little kick. My first jerky attempt. I’ll give it a 6 or 7 out of 10 score. Decent, but not exceptional. I’d probably want a little more sweetness to it.

My midnight snacks are usually a few slices of cheese and some olives. Quick, easy & yummy.

My wife and kids love olives. For some reason I think they taste like mud. I might need to revisit and see if my tastes have changed. I’ll eat them on a loaded pizza, but on their own I’ve never liked them. The women like the black ones. I know there are all sorts of crazy options.

Just stay away from canned olives. They have all the flavor and texture cooked out during canning.

Well my snack was a BBQ sandwich. A piece of brisket, a beer and some cheese.

The olive bar container is always a good option. Preferably cheese or garlic stuffed, and the hot stuffed cherry peppers.

Top of that first picture kinda looked like a toilet bowl as I scrolled down. Not. A good start on a food thread.

Looks great to me. Try adding about 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, or a couple tablespoons of honey or even better molasses, If you do the honey or molassess you might want to use a double boiler so and let it simmer a bit to mix in well.
Although I have just drizzled honey on it while it's drying too, just gets a little messy.

There was brown sugar in the recipe too. Plus soy and Worcestershire sauce. And a bunch of spices.
