Am I going crazy?

I'm not fighting, just wondering when this change was made. Just for my own sanity. In my mind we were talking trash in other people's ads yesterday.

And your second statement is the exact reason it was changed

Candidly that is the reason for the change, because trash talking in someone's ad was never within the rules to begin with.
 
I was half joking about the trash talk. I remember a lot of, "this is a good deal" and "nice price" and of course "where are the pics?!" type of stuff, but I can see how that would get old and could be abused.

Annnnnd all of those things were outside the rules as well and yes it did get very old.

You can ignore any thread you like. Look up top for the button. I like to do that to the Bill O'Sale ads.

It still angers me when someone puts an item up for sale at some outrageous price. :mad: I know that it's buyer beware but when you have a predator among us it just pisses me off. The same goes with someone selling crap for $5.00 or such. Put it in the FREE section or make them put their name and address out there so we can all chip in a few bucks to help them out.

But now I just calm down and move on and silently wish them the worst. :)

Ehā€¦folks are free to price items however they wantā€¦.no one is forced to buy it.

I will say, though, some of the folks listing stuff better hope they never get popped for a random drug test at workā€¦.theyā€™ll fail it, for sure.

I wouldn't let it bother you too much. Asking price and selling price are rarely the same thing.

New here but figured out by looking thru some of the sell ads that there is not a single post from anyone in there other then the OP Bumping his post. I was looking for where to ask this a question about it but found this luckily along the way.. I can see the good of how it is now but reading others questions and of course the OP answers to those questions comes in handy as well. Plus it keeps the OP from being asked the same question over and over possibly.. If people were breaking the rules with their posts I say just delete their posts for them. I'm sure ya'll thought of all that before changing your policy on it and it would make for more work of the Moderators.

Trust me, it was much more civil than Reddit where it is not unusual for a poster to reply in a for sale ad, "I paid half of what you are asking 6 years ago to my second cousin's ex- girlfriend while he was in jail over that weekend. I'll offer you . . . and not a penny more." Or, "You can get that for x amount (half of what op is asking for) from such and such website." True, true, but that was a blem that was on sale for 15 minutes until they ran out of stock.
 
We should have a site for ads in the Basement for those willing to sell stuff that have grown a set, or have a hide as thick as a rhino's back. You know, just for fun. :D

And as a Supporting Member, you have access to a BST area where you can actually ask & comment in the ads. šŸ˜Ž

Probably not. It was recently added back, and not near the level of nonsense that the public BST had.
