Am I the only one with conceal carry problems?

On occasion I'll carry OWB but my preferred method is pocket carry. I can, and still do, carry a G19 in my pocket from time to time. But, most of the time it's a G43 in each front pocket. Before buying any pants or shorts, the first thing I do is check the depth of the pockets.

I am a tall burly midget..5ft 6in and 175. I, like my pal Geezer carry 2 G43s every step outside the gates. I have WAY too many holsters. Always trying to find a better way. Outside the waist band causes flop over with the small guns I prefer. Inside the waist band doesn't work because I already got a lot of stuff inside here. For many years in the 80s I just shoved a 1911 in the top of whatever pants I had on. I have grown old and prefer smaller-lighter guns. I have carried Every day since 1976. I think if you pick a place and stick with it you will beat your problem.

I tend to carry a full-size VP9 IWB at the 2:30 position. 5'10" 215ish. I feel VERY comfortable that I am not printing and I actually find the weight of the full-size more comfortable for some reason than the tiny pistols like my P325 or Khar CM9. The little guns just seem pointier to me...My "tactical muffin top" definitely helps hide the gun.

It's all about the holster and position.

I have 3 that really work for me.

  • RM Holsters Low Rider
No pics yet. I'm using today so I might snap some later. Here is one from the website: https://www.shop.rmholsters.com/Low-Rider-Inside-Waist-Band-Holster-LR20.htm

I simply cannot speak highly enough of the RM lowriders; it is literally the only IWB holster that works for me. I've used them for M&P, G19s, and G43s. There's just something about the angle of the grip to the waistband that makes these comfortable for me ! The lowriders seem to go under my "tactical girth". I use them year around when I choose not to OWB ( usually CJ). I also pocket carry the 43 quite often too, when I don't want to mess with the right cover garment or wear a coat. BTW, their customer service is simply outstanding; you can call Kee there and talk to him with whatever questions you have or anything; he'll work it out for you.

Not sure if its the added weight I've packed on or what... 6'4, 250lbs. Wear a 38" pants. XL shirts.

Doesnt matter where I carry, it prints. appendix, above my right back pocket... all prints with my 3.6 m&p.

Not to mention, I dont find it all that comfortable, its manageable while standing, but sitting, forget it. Thinking I might need to venture into a single stack 9 for CC. I got this 3.6" for IWB, I feel the 3.6 is kinda pointless of me to open carry, might as well get a longer barrel then.

Anyone else feel like they HAVE to use a single stack for IWB?

A little late to the party here ... I am 6'5" 274 lbs, 38 size jeans and 2X shirts, and I have been carrying my G26 at the 4:30 position in an Alien Gear IWB Cloak Tuck 3 holster. I know these holsters don't get a lot of love from some folks but I have found it incredibly comfortable. Sits snug right above the back of my hip.

I also like the Alien Gear CT3, have one for M&P 9 and Beretta Nano.

If you want a cheap and easy solution for the grips, buy a bicycle tire tube from Walmart, etc. Cut whatever size you want. You can do full sleeve, or small rings. I've carried all my Glocks that way, with a band around each finger grip. It's the best solution I found for mine with CT grips, but they work on standard pistol grips as well.

I use inner tube as well. Used to buy Hogue grip sleeves but they basically force you to hold the gun a certain way. I prefer this by far....and when it wears through after a few months of heavy use, cut a new one.

Try a good gunbelt and a pancake holster. A good belt with a reinforcement layered into it will help with comfort and concealment.

A pancake holster will spread the weight of the pistol onto the belt and enable you to conceal a larger pistol as it pulls the grip into the body. Good luck! Regards 18DAI

This stops people from staring at you when you carry.

Out of the two of these pistols, I will let you guess which one conceals easier.

While the Shield is thinner, the overall width in the holster is wider than the G19 and the clip is centered on the holster.

The clip on the way G19 is offset from the main body of the holster and in conjunction with the strut that pulls the grip into your body, it carries much closer, feels more secure and I don't have to cinch my belt down tight to feel like it's not printing.

What holster is the G19 in?
