There seems to be a gazillion of them and their all mentioned in my search but which one is truly "stock"?? Not looking for some high dollar whizbang, just a functional unit that is fairly easy to install..

Yea that's basically what you're looking for. The Sionics enhanced LPK has basically that as well.

As a lefty rifle shooter I have tried a bunch of different ambi selectors and by far my favorite one is the Radian talon. It is very easy to install and can be configured as a 90 or 45 degree set up. I also prefer how their levers are secured with a dovetail type mounting versus screws that could easily come loose. pretty reasonably priced too, this is just one link but I see them for around 30ish bucks fairly often.

I was wondering about the little screw arrangement but wouldn't a drop of locktite take care of that?? The one in your link doesn't have any screws to hold the off side lever. It appears to be "spring loaded"?? Not sure I could trust that.

I had a Battle Arms Development ambi that had screws and I did put some locktite on them and never had an issue, but the thought was always there that it could come undone. The radian slides on to a dovetail type slot and uses a spring loaded pin to hold it in place. It is an very solid set up and I trust it much more than anything with screws.

This is what I have on my MK18 Mod 0 "variant' but I don't have enough time behind it to say whether I like the Talon or not. I set mine up to 90, but may change it to 45.

I've tried both, but personally, liked 45.

Index finger comes off the trigger and flicks the lever up, to SAFE. Ready to shoot, thumb down the lever to FIRE.

Just what works best for me.

I'll probably just stick with the 90 degree throw. Bear in mind this entire exercise is so I can teach my wife (who is left handed) to shoot the rifle in case she needs to shoot something that needs shooting....
Thanks to everyone that chimed in on this.....

I have all of mine set up as a 45. Once I first tried a 45 degree I knew I could never go back to 90.
This is my concern as well. Start 1 carbine on 45 and then I have to spend money to convert them all over. My Noveske N6 was setup as 45 from the factory, but I only have a few rounds through it too.

Yup, that's what happened to me. Tried one on a new build and liked it so much I had to put one on the others. Fortunately I only have 3 right now and they the Talons are fairly cheap, so not too big of a deal.

Yep same here, I put a 90 amby on my wife’s AR and she wasn’t having it, she was used to shooting my rifles with the short throw safeties and wanted one in hers so I pulled the Strike Industries short throws out of my backup rifle and gave it to her, so much for saving a few bucks lol
