American Assassain

With Micheal Keeton? That liberal anti gunner? Americans don't need guns! But it's ok to make a shoot um up kill everything movie to further his career. I'll pass. I might be nutz and it may be a good movie, but I'm not putting a dime into someone's pocket who hates the things that I support. Some things you just can't do without but movies, that's easy for me.

Keaton is a Democrat. He endorsed President Barack Obama for re-election in 2012[38] and Senator Bernie Sanders for the Democratic nomination in 2016. Michael Keaton, who stars in the picture, has donated exclusively to Democrats, including Obama, 2004 Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry and Montana Sen. Jon Tester.

Sorry to hijack your thread JR! I may read the book though.

My sentiments exactly, he can go to hell and kiss my butt before he leaves.......

This is the Vince Flynn book, right?
Yes, the first in the series. I'm queuing up the second book today.

He made the lead 23 which is pretty smart for a series. Not like some other characters who would now be in their 70's and 80's by virtue of how long they have been doing sequels.

I am selective about my boycotts; if the entertainment value is greater than the annoyance of an actor's politics/social stand, then I will give it a go.

I will watch this, but I will wait for red box.

I've already read it. I've read all of Vince Flynns books. I hate he died!

I just finished Order to Kill. Either Flynn left good notes or Kyle Mills is really good, because there's not a lot of difference in the two writing styles that I could see.

Yeah, I got hooked on Flynn a long time ago and his characters and writing style are great. Hard to put down his novels once you start.
He died young a couple of years ago, but his work has been taken over by Kyle Mills and I haven't noticed much change in the story, characters or action. Vince still gets top billing on the last couple of novels written by Mills. The newest novel is due out in two weeks.

If you guys are gonna boycott movies and entertainment based on the actors' political leanings, you're gonna soon be looking for entertainment from a cardboard box.

I agree, I really liked Flynn's work, especially his first "Term Limits"......There is another guy out there that is of the same genre and is fantastic, William Christie...He's also written under the name of F.J. Chase.

I read "Warriors of God" way back when it first came out 20+yrs ago. Most excellent and still very topical today, maybe even more so today...

His other books are all excellent as well, such as: Threat Level, The Enemy Inside, Mercy Mission
Two that he wrote as FJ Chase are also excellent: The Darkness under Heaven & Bargain with the Devil.

His books are well worth the read.

Brad Thor is another writer in the same vein as Flynn. His books are good even if he is a jerk after he sided up with Glenn Beck pre-election.

Brad Thor is a clown.....Any clown that writes a novel where the evil mastermind is a dwarf that escapes capture by riding off through Central Park on the back of a large dog, should be force-fed a large dog's feces, after being sent to Singapore for a proper caning.

Look at it like this. If an actor or whatever uses their money to promote a view that goes against what you believe in, then why would you give them your money to support it? Especially if like this movie, he's for gun control but doesn't mind making a shoot em up movie. That's a hypocrite. I vote with my wallet, besides, Keeton is a hack actor.

I get it. BUt like others have mentioned, there are ways to watch it without putting money directly into their wallet. They got paid long before anyone spends a dime at a movie theater or buys a DVD.

I realize that hey get paid before the movie comes out but, it's STILL money from people like US! Hollywood is killing this nation! It's transforming it into a bunch of zombies with no morals, no ambition and no consequences! If we don't turn the money tap off , we're doomed! It's probably already too late. I just don't support them. They have make fun of conservatives, religion, they pull our youth into crime, drugs, sex, and no morality! They produce " Celebrities " that you wouldn't want in your house or around your family in real life because of the way the live and act. I'm not giving them one thin dime! Like I've said before, something's you can't do without and companies that I don't like make them. OK, I'll bite the bullet, but, movies and TV shows, that's an easy thing to do without. I'd rather play games with friends and family, sit in front of a good campfire, or anything other than contribute to the continued downfall of the rest of my country.

You're right. And for the record, I rarely go to the movies. I could blame it on having little kids, but it's really a disinterest in movies that think they have to be over the top crude/vulgar to be funny and/or entertaining.

But I do watch the occasional show or movie at home on Kodi or AppleTV...heck, I have an iPhone and iPad, both from a company that has leaders that are openly against most things I support. That's where my commentary was most rooted in--we're surrounded and immersed in it. Unless you make your own clothes, cars, house, building materials, and grow your own food...one way or another, you're "supporting" someone who doesn't align with you.

Such is the result of a fallen world. That's not a cop-out to join in the mele...

I'd rather we not advocate committing crimes on this thread.

Just to totally flog this horse...

If I'm viewing it, that's not illegal. If I watch someone shoot a full-auto gun that does not have a class III, should I go to ATF time out jail? If I hear someone doing a burnout a few streets over in my neighborhood, should I be ticketed for reckless driving?
