All BMX bikes are sold out and back ordered. I went to or called every bike shop in the Triad and found a total of 5 bikes and they all said late June at the earliest to restock. Someone stole my 2nd boys bike a couple weeks ago, I was hoping for it to show up on Craigslist so I could “buy” it back (punch someone in the face and take it back). It’s been 2 weeks and no sight of it and because he really enjoys it I decided to buy a decent one for him instead of just Walmart/Amazon and damn if they aren’t impossible to find. On a side note BMX bikes are expensive. I found one a little over budget at Mock Orange Bike in Winston and decided I better get it while I’ve got the chance.

Interesting, think its people trying to occupy themselves?

Also, I hope you find your boy's bike, Dan. And I hope you PAY for it well. I hate a thief.

I didn't know we had so many kids in my neighborhood! I thought they had all grown up and moved on. I've haven't seen so many bikes around here since my kids were little. Also, there is a huuuge difference in a real bike and a department store bike. Plus, most real bike shops will take their bikes back on trade in when your kid outgrows it.

How old is he? If he can ride Marshall’s old bike come get it. He outgrew it when he was about 9 and we bought him a slightly bigger one.
It’s Brady. He’s 10 but the size of a 14 year old. I went to the place in Summerfield yesterday and the guy was trying to help me size the bike. He was like a 10 year old needs an 18” bike I told him no offense but he’s your height, he said well I ride a 20”.

I dropped his new bike off on the way back to the office, he’s happy and knows this one needs to be locked up at all times.

This one also does free tune ups as long as we own the bike. He said they do that on all new bikes sold.

There’s no sports going on so I guess parents are trying to get some physical activity out of their kids.

Whoever stole it will get it eventually, even if it’s not from me.

Have you (you or wife etc) checked FB marketplace, LetGo, offerup etc?

Another odd consequence. The Cannonball Run record has been broken twice since the Coof started.

Yup...since this whole mess started I have ordered two bikes off amazon, one for a 13 year old and one for a 9 year old. As well as a scooter for the 3 year old. The kids like riding around the back yard and its good to keep them moving. The wife and I are shut in most all day working, so its good for them to have an outlet.

Mine started when we bought the oldest a skateboard and started going to Lexington skate park. After watching the older kids he decided he didn't want to follow his brother and instead do the BMX deal. So as of now Iv'e got 2 skateboarding, 1 on a bike, and the others 3 testing the waters on both. Buying a skateboard for my oldest back in October has turned out to be an expensive purchase with all that it's lead to.

But way better than any video games could ever be.

I'm lucky when it comes to that. They really only care about playing video games when it's late or bad weather. We've been out at the skatepark for 6 hours straight, we get home and they have me pull off to the side so they can continue skating and riding bikes.

He’s 10, but he’s the size of me, which is about two steps down from Daniel

Agreed, but if you pick and choose the games, they can also be educational.

However...my daughter spent time today working on decorating a house in Roblox that she had to earn money for in the game, so she learned how to budget, the ramifications of spending stupidly, and ultimately how to save. When I went to look at it it was about as good as any interior designer I had ever seen. Sucker had some strong architecture thown in and it was nice to see. Very creative.

My son plays Minecraft a bit, and makes me play with him at times. And so far he has learned about planning for a crisis, setting aside supplies, planning his next action, and how to best protect what he has created with walls and so forth. When he comes to me with questions (which I am generally clueless on) my response is "What have you planned to do, and what is more important to do, now go do that."

We dont really let them play the violent action and first person shooter games...those are for me.

Show your skateboarders the classic Gleaming the Cube. I have it digitally I could put on Drive and share if you needed. Or put it on a SD card and bring by to you at your work.

Also, didnt know the Lexington park was open - where is it?
Got a couple boards still - one to ride (which I dont), and two I been meaning to put up on the wall, some limited edition Jason Lee boards (My Name is Earl, owner of Stereo skateboards. Saw him skate a demo at the High Point National Guard back when I was 15ish)

They closed it 2 weeks ago, but it’s beside the national Guard Armory. Radcliff Park, it’s extremely nice and professionally built and designed. The city of Lexington spent a lot of money and did it right.

Nice pull!
That was an awesome skateboarding movie

In my day, us kids were put outside to amuse ourselves as soon as we got off the school bus. We did homework then had dinner, and were sent back outside! We used to work out the badminton set! It was lots of fun. And I guess it kept Mom and Dad from killing us! lol.

Every bike in the local Walmart is gone, according to the wife....

My local wally said they were all moved to the back because they couldn't post someone at the bicycles just to keep them sanitized
